We saw and were floored by Taylor Swift‘s BAD BLOOD Video, but Madonna never has been one to be outshone. She’s back and wants you to know, BITCH, SHE’S MADONNA! After a Premiere on Tidal, the Video is available now to all.
Beyoncé! Miley Cyrus! Katy Perry! Rita Ora! Nicki Minaj! Madonna pulls-out all the stops and the Big Girls to do battle on her new Music Video for BITCH I’M MADONNA (ft. Nicki Minaj)... and we LOVE IT. Sure it’s no match for Bad Blood, but it’s still Madge.

The term “Megastar” oftens gets thrown around but few actually are it in the truest sense of the word. Miley, is that. A brand new Track from the Cyrus surfaced earlier today and although nobody is quite sure whether the Song is a new Single or just an unreleased Track recorded prior, the Internet quickly is responding favourably to the uptempo break-up Tune, which appears to be a Dr. Luke Production.
Listen:
Knowing Miley, we have no doubt that this is cleverly-executed stunt to get her back to the summit (not that she ever left it). If you noticed, scandalous/artsy Photos from her Paper Magazine (read here) Interview surfaced today, where she talks about her sexuality and her own Parents’ tumultuous relationship, among other things. And ever since, all we’ve been thinking about is Miley.
Oddly enough though, the release of this Single sorta derailed the publicity behind these shocking Photos…

Stars of the Film, Fashion and Music Worlds gathered Monday night at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art, for Fashion’s biggest night, the Costume Institute Ball – known more as the Met Ball or Met Gala – for a 44th year. As in previous years, the night was nothing short of spectacular and this year’s theme was China: Through the Looking Glass, which explores the Country’s influence on Fashion as we know it today. An Exhibition put-on in conjunction with the Museum’s Department of Asian Art, commences now through August, with the Gala kicking it all off.
The ultra-exclusive Affair is invite-only and if you are fortunate enough to be granted the opportunity to purchase a ticket even, acceptance is pending the approval of the most revered and feared Woman in the Industry, Anna Wintour.
Just so there was no confusion in the hierarchy, the dazzling A-List of predominantly female Talent would see its biggest stars Jay-Z and Beyoncé (in a revealing sheer Givenchy) arrive approximately three hours late, drawing a crowd of cheers from onlookers who lined street for a long glance at beauty and innovation when finally they did arrive.
Although a list of Guests was published prior, with Jennifer Lawrence named Event Chair this year, few know fully who exactly will arrive until they walk the many steps of the Red Carpet. Some Starlets stayed within their comfort zone wearing with an array of pretty form-fitting gowns. Others took major fashion risks, staying true to the Night’s established theme including Trailblazer Sarah Jessica Parker who had donned a Chinese Opera-like Headpiece over an H&M Dress, a strong contingent of Chinese Actresses including Gong Li, Ziyi Zhang, Carina Lau, Li Bing Bing, Gao Yuan Yuan, Tang Wei and more donned intricate creations with floral themed patterns. Dolce & Gabbana was most daring and our personal favourite, dressing a handful of Starlets like Karen Elson, Brie Larson and more in decadent golds with dazzling Tiaras fit for a Queen. Red-hot Moschino now underseen by Jeremy Scott, saw the likes of Madonna and Katy Perry garbed head-to-toe in his vision, the latter who turned heads with a cropped Pixie Cut which turned to blonde at the Afterparty which she had co-hosted. Not quite thematically correct, but still a visual Feast.
Others getting high praise for their looks were friends Anne Hathaway in a hooded gold Ralph Lauren numbers, Lady Gaga in a Zac Posen Pantsuit, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in rose-coloured Versace and Sophie Turner in teal Burberry Dress. And speaking of teal, Miley Cyrus would dazzle in a high-neck Alexander Wang dress, with her hair slicked-back and coloured as such. We also are a huge Fan of Kate Hudson‘s gold Michael Kors number.
Social Media was lit afire when Perry, Madonna and perceived Pop Rival Lady Gaga posed for Selfies together at the Ball’s official Afterparty in the City’s Meatpacking District. Both Lady Gaga and Rihanna also themselves would throw their own bashes, which would see the likes of Naomi Campbell, Robert Pattinson and his girlfriend FKA Twigs returning to their star-crammed Hotel in the wee hours at the break of dawn.

Justin Timberlake was the big Winner at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards this evening, held in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Arena! The R&B Crooner took home a whopping seven trophies, including wins for Top Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Male Artist (Female went to Katy Perry), Top Billboard 200 Album for The 20/20 Experience and more! Timberlake, like Perry, had accepted his Awards via satellite.
Following behind closely were Rock Outfit Imagine Dragons, who are slated to visit Toronto next month for the MuchMusic Video Awards. The Quartet won Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Duo/Group and Top Rock Artist.
Controversial Hit Blurred Lines earned Robin Thicke, Pharrell and T.I. a total four Billboard Music Awards tonight including Top Hot 100 Song, Top Digital Song, Top Radio Song and Top R&B Song.
Country Star and former American Idol was awarded the Milestone Award, while Multimedia Empire Jennifer Lopez was given the important Icon Award, on-hand to accept the honour with a heart-felt speech.
Many tonight were talking about Michael Jackson‘s resurrection in Hologram form, performing new posthumous Single, Slave to the Rhyhtm. The surprise struck a chord with Audience members, some seen tearing-up.
Watch it below:
After kicking-off in Vancouver on Valentine’s Day, Multimedia Megastar Miley Cyrus’ fourth self headlining Tour, in support of her 2013 Disc Bangerz, hit Toronto tonight at Air Canada Centre. Selling-out completely, the 21-year-old commanded the Stage Production, best described as sophisticated, colourful, playful Romp, which at once is highly sexually-charged. Outfit upon outfit, Fans were dazzled by her array of Roberto Cavalli-designed Bodysuits, some skimpier than others, before ultimately riding-off a giant Wiener, suspended mid-air. At one point, Cyrus even spat water on her Fans – met with few complaints, of course!
Cyrus who arrived early Sunday morning with her entourage, mother Tish and Sister Noah, remained low-key for much of her stay. The Star tells her Fans – many daringly-clad with their hair put into buns mimicking their Idol – that she has a special affection for Toronto having lived here four years as a Child. Times certainly have changed and a once precocious young Girl, now back with the World at the tip of her well-manicured and tattooed finger.
Without making Fans wait too long, the Actress/Songstress zipped through 22 Tracks in two hours, focusing mostly on her number one- selling Disc Bangerz, with a couple familiar hits like Can’t be Tamed and Party in the U.S.A. sprinkled sparsely. Fans went ballistic as she encored her Smash Wrecking Ball and We Can’t Stop. She even surprised those Smilers (as she calls her Fans affectionately), further doing an impromptu Set before them including Covers of Summertime Sadness (Lana Del Rey), The Scientist (Coldplay) and Jolene (Dolly Parton), us witnessing the bright ring of her powerful, resonant vocals. She had tried to capture the moment on her Phone via a Selfie Video, although the Device ran out of memory, forcing her to delete some files on-stage.
Anybody doubting Cyrus’ Artistry or longevity as an Entertainer beyond her wildly-successful teen past, undoubtedly would have been silenced by her dazzling display tonight. She is an exciting Artist who continues to defy the odds and grow regardless what her Naysayers might think.

Not sure it was quite a musical match made-in-heaven, but Madonna and Miley Cyrus‘ much-talked-about Collaboration on the latter’s MTV Unplugged Taping quickly has surfaced! Gyrating, butt-patting, Cowboy Hats and Boots! This Performance is everything.
Madonna surprised Miley Fans in Los Angeles the other night joining the Pop Star for a custom-concocted Mash-Up their Hits respectively, Don’t Tell Me and We Can’t Stop. Thematically it works we suppose, with the former sporting a Country Vibe and Miley proudly displaying her Country Roots. But sonically? You be the Judges!

Racy, racy. Miley Cyrus just unleashed her brand-new Video for latest Single, ADORE YOU. Directed by Joseph Kahn, the Clip has Cyrus writhing about seductively in bed, interspersed with some self-filmed Footage. Edgy, but like Wrecking Ball it gets a little uncomfortable to watch at moments.

It was a memorable year indeed! Join me as I recall some of 2013’s brightest moments in Celebrity, Film and Music with a Toronto twist! As a true Connoisseur of Pop Culture, I certainly was spoiled with several delights this year on all three fronts. Toronto witnessed what could well be the strongest years this City ever has seen in terms of Star Power. Also, as an experienced Digital Photographer of sorts, I am sharing some of my favourite Snaps taken around the City this year too. If you’re a #NOFILTER kinda Guy or Gal, I apologize! A few of them are Horse-related, spending many of my weekends at scenic Woodbine Racetrack, my fave Place since Childhood to escape and recharge from the City. Come Wongsters, let us walk down this luminous Memory Lane together!
TOP TEN SONGS OF 2013
2013 was solid for Pop Music and I was thrilled to hear a return to great, strong melodies. What a year it was for Miley Cyrus who not only wowed us with We Can’t Stop, but slayed us hard with Wrecking Ball! Coming in like a Wrecking Ball she managed to turn all eyes her way in a year which saw Albums released from some Marquee names like Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Rihanna and more. Lana Del Rey put us in a state of euphoria this Spring with her chilling Ballad for The Great Gatsby, Young & Beautiful. Flawless and timeless. Mariah Carey and Miguel provided much of the Soundtrack for my early Summer with their gorgeous Collabo #Beautiful, while Robin Thicke undisputedly had the Song of Summer 2013 with Blurred Lines. His Album of the same name easily is my favourite Disc of 2013.
1. Miley Cyrus – Wrecking Ball
2. Lana Del Rey – Young & Beautitul
3. Mariah Carey ft. Miguel – #Beautiful
4. Justin Timberlake – Mirrors
5. Miley Cyrus – We Can’t Stop
6. Robin Thicke ft. Pharrell & T.I. – Blurred Lines
7. Capital Cities – Safe and Sound
8. Katy Perry – Roar
9. Icona Pop – I Love It
10. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis – Same Love
Miley Cyrus – Wrecking Ball
TOP TEN FILMS OF 2013
I don’t recall a year in recent memory where the Films were quite as strong as this year. It is as if Filmmakers have studied critiques, knew precisely what to avoid and owned it. Time after time I’d make it out to the morning Media Screenings and just when I thought I’d seen my favourite Film of 2013, another would come along and usurp the throne. In all, AIDS Drama Dallas Buyers Club would leave the strongest imprint with Jared Leto touching the core of my soul with his phenomenal performance. 12 Years a Slave left me shaken and speechless and made it really tough to decide a Fave. Saving Mr. Banks truly affected and inspired me, moving me to tears and I could never forget Cate Blanchett‘s empathic portrayal of a Woman battling her own demons in Woody Allen‘s Blue Jasmine. And yes, I really loved Spring Breakers. James Franco is just on another level.

It was a great year for Pop Music in 2013. DJ Earworm recaps it best and in what is becoming an annual Pop Tradition, the San Francisco-based Mash-up Artist has just unveiled his United State of Pop 2013 Megamix. And he never disappoints! Although a bit less energetic and a bit darker than previous year’s, this is definitely among his best.

Capital Cities – Safe & Sound
