For the second week in-a-row, The Twilight Saga Finale Breaking Dawn – Part 2 finds itself on-top this Thanksgiving weekend with $44.2 million for Summit Entertainment/eOne Films from 4,050 theatres. In two weeks alone, it has grossed $226 million alone in North America and exceeds the $400-million mark worldwide. The fact that it still manages to be at number one on what is the biggest-grossing U.S. Thanksgiving Weekend and also the highest-grossing five-day Box Office Weekend ever with a total $288 million earned between Wednesday through Sunday, is a true testament to its commercial success.
Skyfall in its third week is still going brilliantly well for Sony Pictures with $36 million from 3,526 and I’ll note that personally, I tried seeing the James Bond Flick myself this past in Toronto at Varisty Cinemas Tuesday only to be shut-out due to tickets selling-out still, meaning there’s still no signs of stopping anytime soon for this Monster.
Disney‘s Lincoln in its second week of wide release, earns $25.1 million, well-above expectations and from only 2,018 theatres, landing just ahead of a debuting Rise of the Guardians for Paramount Pictures, in fourth spot with $23.5 million.
20th Century Fox‘s big Oscar Contender and Yann Martel Novel Adaptation Life of Pi 3-D debuts in fifth spot with $21.8 million from 2,902 theatres. Meanwhile, Remake Red Dawn opens in seventh for Fim District/Alliance Films with $14.1 million, while Silver Linings Playbook finds itself in ninth spot in a limited release with $4.2 million for The Weinstein Co./Alliance Films. Argo proves its staying power with $3.8 million for Warner Bros, rounding out the Top Ten.
Nothing broken about Breaking Dawn Part 2! The Finale in The Twilight Saga debuts this weekend with an outstanding $141 million from 4.070 North American theatres, closing-out what has been a phenomenal Run at the Box Office since it first surfaced back in 2008. Although performing exceedingly-well, it falls just-shy of its Franchise Record, set back in November 2009 with New Moon‘s opening weekend of $142 million.
Placing second this weekend is last week’s resounding Champ Skyfall, with $42 million from 3,505 theatres, tallying two weeks at a superb $160.3 million domestically. This latest James Bond Franchise Film, is on its way to surpassing the $600 million mark internationally for Sony Pictures.
Disney‘s Lincoln, which despite pulling-in an excellent $21 million it its expansion this weekend to 1,775 theatres, manages only to place third, while Wreck-it-Ralph, also from the same Studio, finishes fourth with $18 million – earning a total $121.8 million now in three weeks.
Pitch Perfect amazingly still hangs onto the eighth spot with $1.3 million, while Bollywood Flick Jab Tak Hai Jaan opens in ninth with $1.2 million in only 120 theatres. Sony Pictures’ Here Comes the Boom rounds out the Top Ten with $1.1 million.
The Stars came-out in droves to support the American Film Institute Fest Premiere of LINCOLN last night in Los Angeles at the Grauman Chinese Theatre. Seldom-seen Star Daniel Day-Lewis came-out looking as dapper as ever and Sally Field looked incredible in a sheer lace Number in red! Both posed alongside Director Steven Spielberg for an unforgettable Photo Op! Joseph Gordon-Levitt also came-out as did Gulliver McGrath – both play the Sons of Abraham and Mary Lincoln in the Film.
Disney‘s biggest shot at the Oscars is out in theatres today in Toronto and if you’re thinking of heading-out to see it, here’s my Review. Some superb performances throughout!

Now this I’m super-excited about! Jackie Earle Haley is a true Survivor after having seen several highs and lows in his Career, which began back in the ’70s with his work in The Bad News Bears. After a lengthy absence, Haley resurfaced in winning form back in 2006, receiving an Oscar Nomination for his work in Little Children (one of my favourite Films of all time), alongside Kate Winslet and Patrick Wilson. In that Film he delivers a moving performance as a Child Molester fighting his own personal Demons in a struggle to integrate back into Society.
Haley has been spotted in-and-around Toronto with his Wife Amelia Cruz, particularly enjoying the top-notch Cantonese Fare served at Dynasty Chinese Cuisine, as reported by Fans who spotted him there twice this week alone. He currently is at-work on the Reboot of RoboCop filming here with the likes of Joel Kinnaman (spotted here), Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish and more.
In addition to having been seen in Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows earlier this year, he next can be seen in Oscar Bait Lincoln, starring Daniel Day-Lewis, which opens in theatres November 16, 2012.

The moment many of us have been waiting for. Disney has just released this stunning new Trailer for Lincoln. The Biopic which takes place at the end of the Civil War, centers around one of the greatest Presidents ever and his efforts to getting rid of Slavery in America.
This Best Actor Category is going to be awful tough, especially after seeing this thrilling display from Day-Lewis.
Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Canada releases Lincoln on November 9, 2012 in Toronto and nationwide on November 16, 2012.
