#FIRSTLOOK: SAM ELLIOTT ADDED TO CAST OF SEASON TWO “LANDMAN”

Paramount+ today announced that Academy Award® nominee and Screen Actors Guild Award®-winner, Sam Elliott (1883) will join the second season of Taylor Sheridan’s hit series Landman as a series regular.

Sam Elliott won the Screen Actors Guild Award® for his role in Taylor Sheridan’s 1883 and received an Academy Award nomination and a National Board of Review Award for his performance in A Star Is Born. His numerous other film credits include The Big Lebowski, Tombstone and The Contender. On television, Elliott’s credits include a Critics Choice-award-winning performance in Justified, as well as Parks & Rec, Grace and Frankie and The Ranch.

LANDMAN stars Oscar® winner Billy Bob Thornton, Academy Award nominee Demi Moore, Academy Award nominee Andy Garcia, Academy Award nominee Sam Elliott, Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan and Canadian Colm Feore.

The original drama series is co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace. Season two production is currently underway in Texas.

Hamm will play Monty Miller, a titan of the Texas oil industry who has a long personal and professional relationship with Tommy Norris, played by Oscar® winner and series lead Billy Bob Thornton. Hamm’s nuanced portrayal of high-powered advertising executive Don Draper in the award-winning drama series Mad Men earned him numerous accolades for his performance, including an Emmy in 2015 for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series, Golden Globe Awards in 2016 and 2008, Television Critics Association Awards in 2011 and 2015, a Critics’ Choice Television Award in 2011 and multiple Screen Actors Guild nominations. Moore has proven herself to be one of the industry’s most accomplished performers, lending her talents to an array of revered films and television both in front of and behind the camera.
