Multiple GRAMMY Award-winning Country Megastar Keith Urban returns to Toronto for a whirlwind visit, meeting Press in support of his eleventh Studio Disc, GRAFFITI U. Arriving in the City late last night, he did interviews for most of the day out of his Hotel before performing material from the new Album at a secret location for contest winners. He also chat with George Stroumboulopoulos for the low-key event discussing among other things his artistic process including working with Julia Michaels on current Single, Coming Home.
While he’s visited on many occasions in the past for touring, promotion and also to accompany his partner Nicole Kidman during TIFF, this was our first time ever meeting the New Zealander-Australian. Spotting familiar Fans whom ardently have followed him City to City, he came over to take a few Selfies before rushing-off to his private jet and onto the next City.
Urban will be back in Toronto this summer at Budweiser Stage and also this September at the Canadian Country Music Association Awards in Hamilton!

My love for Nicole Kidman knows no limits, so you can image the loud squeal of delight I let-out after discovering that she had landed the plum Cover for the December 2013 Issue of VANITY FAIR – just our first taste of the promotional machine that will soon be in high-gear for her Oscar Vehicle, GRACE OF MONACO. This is the Goddess’ SEVENTH time covering the Magazine and she reveals more than ever before about her relationships with Tom Cruise and Keith Urban to Contributing Editor, Sam Kashner.
Kidman dishes that she needed to grow-up and maybe wasn’t ready to be in a marriage at age 23. She says, “And you know, with no disrespect to what I had with Tom, I’ve met my great love now. And I really did not know if that was going to happen. I wanted it, but I didn’t want it for a while, because I didn’t want to jump from one relationship to another. I had a lot of time alone, which was really, really good, because I was a child, really, when I got married. And I needed to grow up.”.
She also draws a parallel between her and Cruise in the ’90s as being similar to what Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are facing now. “There is something about that sort of existence that, if you really focus on each other and you’re in that bubble, it’s very intoxicating, because it’s just the two of you. And there is only one other person that’s going through it. So it brings you very close, and it’s deeply romantic. I’m sure Brad and Angelina have that—because there’s nobody else that understands it except that person who’s sleeping right next to you”, she says.
Kidman seems at-peace with herself and settled in her life with Family in Nashville and this warms my heart immensely. Read the Interview here.

If Mariah Carey approves, I do too. Check-out this amazing performance from American Idol Contestant Candice Glover of The Cure‘s 1989 Hit Lovesong. Although covered prior by the likes of Adele and Tori Amos, Glover offers a fresh take with some innovative runs. All four Judges were on their feet and Keith Urban bowed to the 23-year-old Singer from South Carolina. Could there be any greater honour than having glitter tossed at you by Carey?
