Super queen RuPaul Charles leads a glam cast in Adam Shankman’s STOP! THAT! TRAIN!, a campy comedy that features icons from the Drag Race universe like Jujubee, Ginger Minj, Symone, Brooke Lynn Hytes and Marcia Marcia Marcia. Also making appearances are Sarah Michelle Gellar, Rachel Bloom, Nicole Richie, Lisa Rinna, Raven-Symoné, Jerry O’Connell, Chris
Parnell, Charo… that’s just a few. Phew! The film opened Inside Out 2026.
Our chats with the Shankman, Jujubee and Producer Tom Campbell:
Besties Tess (Ginger Minj) and DeeDee (Jujubee) are train stewardesses who work dreary shifts on the low-rung Stank Rail. When they get pink slipped, the duo end up wrangling jobs on the Glamazonian Express, a glitzy bullet train that promises a journey of excess. Mind you, they are relegated to coach duty. But when a massive storm (Stormaganza!) threatens to derail the train
and crash it into Florida, Tess and DeeDee join forces with the snobby first class attendants (Symone, Brooke Lynn Hytes, Marcia Marcia Marcia). Along with Madame President (RuPaul), they must do anything to stop! that! train!
A treat for the senses, the film is punctuated with color (reds, pinks, sparkle!) and sprinkled with a couple of original song-and-dance numbers in the aisles.
No surprise that Adam Shankman has his stewardesses dancing, given that his many credits include Emmy-winning So You Think Can Dance (judge), 82nd Annual Academy Awards (co-producer/lead choreographer), RuPaul’s Drag Race (guest judge/choreographer) and iconic Hairspray (director/choreographer). Script is by Christina Friel & Connor Wright. Choreography
is by Jamal Sims, and songwriting by Leland, both Drag Race contributors.
Fun fact:
Director of Photography is Luka Bazeli. His father shot Shankmans’s Hairspray and Rock of Ages. Luka had spent time on those sets as a teenager.
STOP! THAT! TRAIN! is being released in Canada by Mongrel Media.
