We love us some Mark Wahlberg and Moviegoers will love that he reunites with Director Peter Berg in MILE 22!
In a visceral modern thriller from the Director of Lone Survivor, Mark Wahlberg stars as James Silva, an operative of the CIA’s most highly-prized and least-understood unit. Aided by a top-secret tactical command team, Silva must retrieve and transport an asset who holds life-threatening information to Mile 22 for extraction before the enemy closes in.
The Film also stars Lauren Cohan, Iko Uwais, Ronda Rousey and John Malkovich.
TIFF ’17 officially is switching into high gear as the starpower begins to pour over Toronto this weekend. Unlike previous years, we still are seeing a lot of action spilling into next Monday and Tuesday.
Greta Gerwig is getting tons of buzz for her work in autobiographical LADYBIRD, which she directs. We spotted the super-gracious Gerwig and Laurie Metcalf whom you remember from Sitcom Roseanne. Star Saoirse Ronan unfortunately couldn’t make it in this year despite being scheduled.
There is no celebrity as nice as Jessica Chastain and we are thrilled her performance in Toronto-made MOLLY’S GAME is getting raves. The Film marks the directorial debut of Oscar-winning Screenwriter Aaron Sorkin. Watch Chastain own the fan chaos like a boss!
Everybody loves Charlie Day! The Funnyman stars in equally-funny Louis C.K.’s I LOVE YOU, DADDY at TIFF ’17. While Co-Stars John Malkovich and Edie Falco weren’t quite as giving as he, Day more than made-up for it taking the time out to greet an entire line of fans at Ryerson Theatre.
MARY SHELLEY recounts the eponymous Author’s first romance with Poet Percy Bysshe Shelley and stars Elle Fanning, Douglas Booth, Maisie Williams and Bel Powley. Its stars rang-in its TIFF ’17 Premiere tonight at Roy Thomson Hall en route to a party at STORYS/RBC House. Attending by surprise was Fifty Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan, whose wife Amelia Warner oversaw the Film’s music.
One of the best bashes of TIFF annually is the InStyle Magazine Party, brought to us by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The Party drew-out an A-List crowd, along with several up-and-comers. See some of the names who graced the Carpet!
Directed by Peter Berg, and starring Mark Wahlberg, Dylan O’Brien, Kurt Russell, Kate Hudson and John Malkovich, we’re expecting big things of DEEPWATER HORIZON. Maybe even a TIFF ’16 Premiere? We’ll see! We saw the Trailer a couple months ago and are happy to share it finally with you!
Based on the true events that occurred on an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico on April 20, 2010, the story chronicles the courage of those who worked on the Deepwater Horizon and the extreme moments of bravery and survival in the face of what would become one of the biggest man-made disasters in world history.

eOne Films + Mr. Will want to take Toronto Readers to a Special Screening of CUT BANK with a Q&A with Director Matt Shakman! The Screening takes place Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 7:30 PM, Yonge & Dundas Cineplex.
Official Synopsis: Dwayne McClaren, a high school star athlete recently turned auto mechanic, dreams of getting out of tiny Cut Bank, MT – the coldest town in America – and whisking his pageant-hopeful girlfriend, Cassandra, away to the big city. But his plan to do so sets in motion a deadly series of events and thrusts him into a police investigation headed by Sheriff Vogel, the protector of Cut Bank and the closest thing Dwayne has to a father figure. Panic sweeps across the community in mere hours, but things are not what they seem. Cassandra‘s father Big Stan Steeley is the only one who seems to realize this. However, the damage is already done and the events that unfold change Dwayne‘s life – and the life of the town – forever.
He certainly loves Toronto. After having filmed Box Office Hit Red in Toronto back in 2010 and later having performed at Luminato shortly after with The Infernal Comedy, John Malkovich returns to the City early June for a string of performances in the Play, The Giacomo Variations. Taking place at the Elgin Theatre, based on the life of Italian Womanizer/Writer and Adventurer, Giacomo Casanova.
It also has just announced that Malkovich will be appearing at the TIFFBell Lightbox on Sunday, June 9, 2013 for their In Conversation With… Series (presumably during the day). Stay tuned for more details!
We had the pleasure of meeting Malkovich a couple years back. Click here for more on that.
The Giacomo Variations plays from Friday, June 7 through Sunday, June 9, 2013. Get your Tickets here.

“Why can’t I connect with people? Oh right, it’s because I’m dead.”.
Delightfully-quirky and based on the Novel of the same name by Isaac Marion, Warm Bodies is the latest effort from 50/50 Director/Screenwriter, Jonathan Levine. The Romantic Comedy-Horror stars Nicholas Hoult (About a Boy, A Single Man) and Breakout Stars Dave Franco (21 Jump Street), Analeigh Tipton (Crazy, Stupid, Love.) and Teresa Palmer (I Am Number Four).
Montreal-filmed Warm Bodies centers around a Zombie known as R (Hoult), becomes involved with the Girlfriend (Palmer) of one of his Victims, quite possibly changing forever the world of the non-living.
Although the Young Adult/Teen Fantasy Genre increasingly is becoming crowded in 2013 with the upcoming releases of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Beautiful Creatures and The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, this Film carves its own niche with walk on the funny and wild side and who better to helm this than Levine who brought us to laughter and tears with 2011 Cancer Comedy 50/50. This looks to be the right mixture of sweet and salty.
