CIVIL WAR takes top spot once again at the Box Office with $11 million from 3,929 theatres for A24/Elevation Pictures. This takes it to $44 million over two weekends.
Horror ABIGAIL just gets edged-out at the Box Office this weekend with $10 million from 3,300 theatres across North America, a debut in second. It gets 82% on the Tomatometer.
Third is THE MINISTRY OF UNGENTLEMANLY WARFARE with $9 million for Lionsgate. This latest effort from Guy Ritchie gets 92% on the Tomatometer.
In fourth we have GODZILLA X KONG: THE NEW EMPIRE with $8.5 million from 3,658 theatres for Warner Bros. In tallies in at $170.6 million in its fourth weekend.
Rounding things off is SPY X FAMILY CODE: WHITE with $5 million, getting 96% on the Tomatometer for Sony/Crunchyroll.
No doubt it’s a smash! Alex Garland‘s CIVIL WAR debuts atop the Box Office this weekend with a smashing $25 million for A24, an all-time high debut for the buzzy independent distributor. The dystopian Drama Thriller gets 83% on the Tomatometer. Elevation Pictures release in Canada.
In second is GODZILLA X KONG: THE NEW EMPIRE with $14 million for Warner Bros., taking it to $157 million in its domestic run.
Third goes to GHOSTBUSTERS: FROZEN EMPIRE with $4.6 million for Sony Pictures, a tally of $95.8 million to date.
MONKEY MAN finds itself in fourth in its second weekend out for Universal Pictures with $4.5 million, a total $18.1 million made thus far.
KUNG FU PANDA 4 rounds this Top Five out with $4.4 million for Universal Pictures, bringing its run to $172 million.
GODZILLA X KONG: THE NEW EMPIRE dominates a second straight week with $30 million from 3,948 theatres for Warner Bros., taking its two week tally past the $100 million mark already domestically.
Second is MONKEY MAN, Dev Patel‘s directorial debut, with $12 million from 3,029 theatres for Universal Pictures. It gets a fantastic 85% on the Tomatometer.
Debuting in third is THE FIRST OMEN with $11 million from 3,375 theatres for 20th Century Studios. This prequel to classic THE OMEN gets 78% ont he Tomatometer.
Fourth is GHOSTBUSTERS: FROZEN EMPIRE with $7.8 million, taking its three week run to $87.6 million for Sony Pictures.
Rounding it off is KUNG FU PANDA 4 with $6.8 million, taking it to $165 million in its North American run for Universal Pictures.
It’s a monstrous opening for GODZILLA X KONG: THE NEW EMPIRE, taking a smashing $75 million from 3,861 theatres for Warner Bros. It gets 55% on the Tomatometer and bests 2021’s GODZILLA vs. KONG by more than double, that one bowing with $31 million.
GHOSTBUSTERS: FROZEN EMPIRE finds itself in second with $15.5 million from 4,345 theatres for Sony Pictures, a two week total of $73.2 million.
Third spot goes to DUNE: PART TWO with $10.6 million, a total $251 million domestically, over five weeks for Warner Bros.
Fourth is KUNG FU PANDA 4 with $10 million, a four week run of $151 million for Universal Pictures.
IMMACULATE rounds this Top Five out with $3.2 million, a two week total $11 million for NEON/Elevation Pictures.

Once again at the helm is director Adam Wingard. The film stars Rebecca Hall (“Godzilla vs. Kong,” The Night House”), Brian Tyree Henry (“Godzilla vs. Kong,” “Bullet Train”), Dan Stevens (“Gaslit,” “Legion,” “Beauty and the Beast”), Kaylee Hottle (“Godzilla vs. Kong”), Alex Ferns (“The Batman,” “Wrath of Man,” “Chernobyl”) and Fala Chen (“Irma Vep,” “Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”).
The screenplay is by Terry Rossio (“Godzilla vs. Kong” the “Pirates of the Caribbean” series) and Simon Barrett (“You’re Next”) and Jeremy Slater (“Moon Knight”), from a story by Rossio & Wingard & Barrett, based on the character “Godzilla” owned and created by TOHO Co., Ltd.. The film is produced by Mary Parent, Alex Garcia, Eric Mcleod, Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni and Brian Rogers. The executive producers are Wingard, Jen Conroy, Jay Ashenfelter, Yoshimitsu Banno, Kenji Okuhira.
Once again, Wingard is collaborating with director of photography Ben Seresin (“Godzilla vs. Kong,” “World War Z”), production designer Tom Hammock (“Godzilla vs. Kong,” “X,” “The Guest”), editor Josh Schaeffer (“Godzilla vs. Kong,” “Molly’s Game”), costume designer Emily Seresin (“The Invisible Man,” “Top of the Lake”). The composers are Tom Holkenborg (“Godzilla vs. Kong,” “Mad Max: Fury Road”) and Antonio Di Iorio (additional music on “Godzilla vs. Kong,” the “Sonic the Hedgehog” films).
Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures Present a Legendary Pictures Production, A Film By Adam Wingard, “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.” It is slated for release nationwide only in theatres and IMAX on March 29, 2024, distributed by Warner Bros.
