No surprises here, Christopher Nolan‘s THE ODYSSEY is a clear-cut winner at the Box Office this weekend, taking $124 million from 3,919 theatres for Universal Pictures. This is Nolan‘s third biggest domestic opening ever, with 2012’s THE DARK KNIGHT RISES opening with $160.8 million. It gets 95% on the Tomatometer. Review here.
Second goes to MOANA with $18.8 million, taking it to $81.8 million for Disney over two weekends, domestically.
Third is MINIONS & MONSTERS with $14 million, a three week run of $136.7 million for Universal Pictures.
TOY STORY 5 lands in fourth with $13.8 million for Disney, taking it now to $429.9 million over five weekends.
EVIL DEAD BURN caps off the Top Five with $4.8 million for Warner Bros., a total $23.9 million made over two weekends.
Disney‘s MOANA debuts atop the Box Office with $45 million from 3,875 theatres. This live-action adaptation gets 31% on the Tomatometer. By contrast, its 2016 animated predecessor opened with $56 million and 2024’s MOANA 2 opened with $139 million.
MINIONS & MONSTERS lands in second with $20 million from 4,244 theatres, a two week run of $107 million for Universal Pictures.
Third is TOY STORY 5 with $18 million, bringing it already to $400 million domestically for Disney.
EVIL DEAD BURN debuts in fourth with $15 million from 3,004 theatres for Warner Bros. It gets 72% on the Tomatometer. Review here.
YOUNG WASHINGTON rounds things out with $6 million for Angel Studios, taking it to $32.9 million week two.

After the loss of her husband, a woman seeks solace with her in-laws in their secluded family home. As one by one they are transformed into Deadites—turning the gathering into a family reunion from hell—she comes to discover that the vows she took in life live on… even in death.
EVIL DEAD BURN stars Souheila Yacoub, Tandi Wright, Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Errol Shand, George Pullar, Maude Davey and Greta Van Den Brink.
The film is directed by Sébastien Vaniček and written by Florent Bernard & Sébastien Vaniček. It is produced by Rob Tapert and Sam Raimi. The executive producers are Romel Adam, Bruce Campbell, Lee Cronin and Jose Canas.
Vaniček is joined behind the camera by director of photography Philip Lozano, production designer Nick Connor, editor Maxime Caro and costume designer Sarah Voon.
New Line Cinema and Screen Gems present a Ghost House Pictures production, EVIL DEAD BURN. It will be distributed domestically by Warner Bros. Pictures and is set to open in theatres in North America on July 10, 2026.
