She’s been a part of our social conscience growing up in the ’80s and ’90s. Whether it be Films like The Wedding Singer, Never Been Kissed, Charlie’s Angels, Boys on the Side or the internationally-significant E.T., we all grew up in some way or another with Drew Barrymore. Whether you know her as an Actress, a CoverGirl, a Filmmaker or an Author, the Rom-Com Queen undeniably has earned her title not only as America’s Sweetheart, but a Global Sweetheart.
Barrymore, now a mother of two with Children Frankie and Olive, is in Toronto promoting her new business venture, Flower. She certainly is no stranger to our Locale, having filmed here Fever Pitch in the City alongside Jimmy Fallon, and also Grey Gardens, which won her a Golden Globe Award. Her line of Makeup and Cosmetics already is creating a buzz quickly for its quality and value in the world of Beauty. Highly-accessible in retailers like Walmart. Barrymore‘s Philosophy is not to invest in advertising, but instead go out and promote her products herself. Focus instead is placed on the product itself like its packaging and formulas.
I caught-up with Barrymore as she head to a live taping. Sporting an autumn gold shade of blonde, she glowed stepping out of her SUV with a four-person Entourage accompanying her, sipping on an Iced Tea from Starbucks. Graciously she agreed to a Photo, asking me to walk with her as she head into her appearance. It was a dream.
