Quote from Danielle Woodrow, Director, Content – Canada and Tara Woodbury, Director, Content – Canada, Netflix: “Love Is Blind has transformed how people fall in love around the world. Now it’s Canada’s turn to bring the romance, drama, and a whole new set of unforgettable love stories.”
Quote from Erin Brock, Co-Chief Content Officer/Executive Vice-President, Insight Productions: “The universal question at the heart of Netflix’s Love Is Blind is ‘can you find true love based solely on an emotional connection’. I’m beyond excited to delve into this with a Canadian cast who are genuinely open to finding their soulmates, and to share their unique stories and authentic experiences. I’m one of the gazillion day one die-hards who knows how brilliant this format is, and we’re so honoured to partner with Netflix on this global phenomenon.”
Love Is Blind took the world by storm when it premiered on February 14, 2020, becoming a global phenomenon as singles who want to be loved for who they are sign up for a less conventional approach to modern dating, and choose someone to marry without ever meeting them face-to-face. Over several weeks, the newly engaged couples move in together, plan their wedding and find out if their physical connection matches the strong emotional bond developed in the Pods. When their wedding day arrives, will real-world realities and external factors push them apart, or will they marry the person they fell blindly in love with? The original US series was so successful and well-received that it spawned new local Love Is Blind adaptations, including Japan, Brazil, Sweden, UK, Mexico, Habibi, Germany, Argentina, Italy, France, and Canada with more to come. This addictive series uncovers whether looks, race or age do matter, or if love really is blind.
