Toronto’s most creative canine costumes are taking over the runway beneath the Gardiner Expressway! Howl’oween returns to The Bentway on Saturday, October 24, from 12–4 p.m., bringing costumed pups, their people, and dog lovers together for an afternoon of music, local pet vendors, seasonal treats, and prizes.
Hosted by Toronto drag princess Ella Mayo, the annual costume contest will see dogs strut The Bentway Skate Trail during a Costume Contest Pack Walk, competing for Best DIY Costume, Best Family Costume, Judges’ Picks, and the brand-new Best Pet Superhero Costume category. Special guest judges include local dogfluencer Zeppi the Pom, alongside representatives from CityPlace & Fort York BIA and Ren’s Pets.
Beyond the runway, visitors can browse the Toronto Dog Moms Market, enjoy giveaways from Ren’s Pets, and mingle at “Yappy Hour” from 3–4 p.m. The event is pay-what-you-choose, open to everyone, and takes place rain or shine—no dog or costume required to attend.
With imaginative costumes, coordinated family looks, and a runway full of four-legged superheroes, Howl’oween offers plenty of playful photo and video opportunities. The Costume Contest Pack Walk runs from 1–1:30 p.m., with the prize ceremony at 2:30 p.m.
