Surely you must recognize Thomas Lennon! The Comedian has been making us laugh for years now. Known for his memorable roles in 17 Again, Reno 911 and writing in A Night At the Museum, he gets a starring Role at last alongside Matthew Perry on new Series The Odd Couple, based on the popular ’70s Show of the same name.
Lennon brightened our day totally with his Canadian Press Tour doing Radio and TV primarily with visits to KISS 92.5, CBC‘s Q, various feeds of Canada AM, eTalk and The Social. We got to meet him after Fans called him over at Bell Media, in a rare move, walking through the Parking Lot to stop for Photos and Autographs. Each Fan got their own signature hug and goofy face Selfie from a sharp-dressed in navy Lennon. “Just one more”, he’d keeping telling us as he gave gratuitously.

She certainly needs little introduction. If you’ve ever been home bored on a Saturday night these past couple years, likely you know the genius Comedy of Kate McKinnon. The New York-born Funnywoman is in-town for the Toronto Sketch Fest, making an appearance at Randolph Theatre where she played tonight an ambitious two shows back-to-back.
Known best for her impersonations of Hillary Clinton, Iggy Azalea, Justin Bieber and her idol, Ellen DeGeneres, McKinnon brought the LOLs for Toronto, having some of the Audience in stitches with jokes ranging from her ‘muffin top’ to stool samples. The Multi-Instrumentalist even brought out her guitar to entertain the crowd with a mish-mash of her comedic and musical talents.
We had the pleasure of meeting the Genius herself after her final Show of the night and she is every bit amazing, plowing through slush to her cab, stopping for Fans after a long day of prep and performance.
McKinnon in addition to SNL, has been tapped to star in Paul Feig‘s 2016 all-female Ghostbusters alongside Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy and Leslie Jones.

English Quartet RIXTON are in town after opening for pint-sized, venti-size-voiced Diva Ariana Grande. The Band is making the most of their stay in Toronto promoting debut Disc LET THE ROAD out now, before heading to the next stop of Grande‘s Honeymoon Tour in Pittsburgh.
Grande had the Internet buzzing after making a sharp fall performing BANG BANG last night at Air Canada Centre, but recovering gracefully!
See it below:
Consisting of members Jake Roche, Charley Bagnall, Danny Wilkin and Lewi Morgan, RIXTON came onto our radars last Summer with Top 20 Hit Me and My Broken Heart (a #1 Hit in the U.K.) and although they’ve come here a few times for Press, our timing was always off and finally I got a Group Snap earlier with the Boys today! Good Blokes. Loving their fashion-forward street look too!
Their day began with a performance on BT Toronto (click to see their amazing performance!) followed by a visit at Global‘s The Morning Show (Toronto Edition).

It was a tepid weekend at the Box Office, but CHAPPIE prevails as the Leader with a $13.3 million debut from 3,201 theatres for Sony Pictures. Made for $49 million, it shouldn’t be long before the Robot Action/Sci-Fi pays its tab. Critics didn’t think much of the Neill Blomkamp (District 9) Film with a 30% on the Tomatometer, but Audiences were more forgiving with a B CinemaScore.
After a #1 debut last week, FOCUS slips to second spot with $10 million for Warner Bros. In two weeks, it has grossed $35 million domestically.
THE SECOND BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL debuts in third spot with $8.61 million from 1,573 theatres for Fox Searchlight. Audiences gave it a B+ CinemaScore and Critics responded positively with a 64% on the Tomatometer. The Sequel bests the $6 million wide opening for its 2012 Predecessor. The Film is the second from Star Dev Patel who debuts with two Films in the Top Three this weekend – the other being CHAPPIE.
KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE shows staying powering, placing fourth with $8.3 million in its fourth week for 20th Century Fox. It closes-in on the $100 million-mark in North America.
FIFTY SHADES OF GREY slips to seventh spot with $5 million for Universal Pictures in its fourth week, grossing $152 million domestically.
THE LAZARUS EFFECT places eighth with $5.1 million for Relativity Media/D Films in its second week out.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS rounds-out the Top Ten for 20th Century Fox with $4.8 million from 2,777 theatres. Critics gave it 13% on the Tomatometer and Audiences gave it a B- CinemaScore.
