Award-winning global media company, marblemedia along with broadcast partners BYUtv (US) and TVOkids (Canada) announce their premiere dates for season 5 of the high-octane series All-Round Champion. Season 5 is set to air first on BYUtv on Sunday, January 15 at 5pm PT, followed by TVOkids on Wednesday, February 8 at 5pm ET. This latest season comes at the heels of the series winning Best Children’s or Youth Non-Fiction Program or Series at the 2022 Canadian Screen Awards.

For the first time in All-Round Champion history, Season 5 will feature a cast fully comprised of para-athletes—competitors with physical disabilities. However, true to the format, they won’t be competing in their own sports; they’ll be competing in each other’s to see how proficient they can become in a new sport in a short period of time. To reach this goal, they must excel beyond their own expectations. They must learn new skills, persevere, overcome their own physical and mental limits, and most importantly, adapt their abilities to the sport and the sports’ equipment. The athlete with the most points at the end of the season will be crowned the All-Round Champion! 

The talented athletes and their sports this season are Brayden Butler (Climbing), Bradley Pedrick (Sailing), Dominic Demaio (Rowing), Gurnoor Chouhan (Goalball), Jackson Atwood (Wheelchair Basketball), Lily Brook (Adaptive Boxing), Maggie Manning (Sledge Hockey), Momo Sutton (Swimming), and Samantha Fraser (Track).

The 10-episode, 60-minute series is hosted by Olympian and World Champion Perdita Felicien, who brings mentorship to the young athletes, along with weekly sports stars that coach and encourage the participants through their respective sports. For this fifth season, some of the sports stars include Britain’s most successful Paralympic sailor, Helena Lucas; four-time Paralympic swimming gold medalist, McKenzie Coan; 31-time Canadian track champion, Josh Cassidy; and Matt Scott, a two-time Paralympic champion in wheelchair basketball and the first disabled athlete featured in a Nike commercial.

All-Round Champion is adapted from the wildly successful Norwegian Best i mest (NRK), which won an International Emmy Kids Award for Non-Scripted Entertainment, as well as a Prix Jeunesse. marblemedia was granted North American format rights from Beta Film.

Cox has had quite a year with several high-profile appearances in the City this year like the JUNO Awards, Canadian Songwriters’ Hall of Fame Gala and now a moment all her own at the Canada’s Walk of Fame Gala.

For a fourth straight weekend, BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER reigns atop the Box Office with $16 million from 3,855 theatres for Disney. In its domestic theatrical run thus far, it’s grossed $392 million.

In second in its debut is VIOLENT NIGHT with $11.8 million from 3,200 theatres for Universal Pictures. The bloody Holiday flick starring David Harbour, gets 70% on the Tomatometer from Critics.

Third is Disney‘s STRANGE WORLD with $4.4 million from 4,174 theatres. Over two weekends, it’s made $25 million.

THE MENU is in fourth with $3.6 million from 2,810 theatres for Searchlight Pictures. It’s made $24.7 million over three weekends.

DEVOTION rounds this Top Five out with $2.8 million from3,405 theatres, a total $13.8 million over two weekends for Sony Pictures.

Following its globally acclaimed first season, Apple TV+ today announced a season two renewal for “Surface,” the hit psychological thriller starring and executive produced by Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and created by Veronica West.

“Surface” stars Mbatha-Raw as ‘Sophie,’ a woman who has suffered a traumatic head injury that has left her with extreme memory loss, believed to be a result of a suicide attempt.

The first season of “Surface,” set in high-end San Francisco, sent Sophie on a mission to discover her own secrets, unearthing a multitude of sins that ranged all the way from an affair to much deeper questions about a hidden past and her true identity. While Season One answered the question of who Sophie really was, Season Two will tell us why. Sophie traveled across an ocean to escape her past, so what was she running from? The season one ensemble cast also includes Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Stephan James, Ari Graynor, Academy Award nominee Marianne Jean-Baptiste, François Arnaud and Millie Brady.

“Surface” is created by Veronica West, who wrote the original series, and serves as executive producer and showrunner. Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter executive produce on behalf of Hello Sunshine. Emmy Award nominee Sam Miller directed four episodes of the first season, including the pilot. A new Speical Look has surfaced for ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA! This just was presented at Brazil Comic Con!

Stars and filmmakers from Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania” ventured to São Paulo, Brazil today for Comic Con Experience 2022 (CCXP), building excitement for the feature film opening in theatres Feb. 17, 2023. Stars Paul Rudd (Scott Lang/Ant-Man), Evangeline Lilly (Hope Van Dyne/The Wasp) and Jonathan Majors (Kang) joined filmmakers Peyton Reed (director) and Kevin Feige (producer and president of Marvel Studios), sharing insights and sneak peeks of footage from the epic adventure.
