We’ve had our eye on this one for a while. After getting lots of love at TIFF ’13 and a Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Picture to boot, Director Michael Dowse (Goon) returns with the charming Romantic Comedy, THE F WORD. The Title decidedly will be known as What If in other territories.
The Film, made in Toronto, centers around Wallace (Daniel Radcliffe), who becomes infatuated with a Girl named Chantry (Zoe Kazan), only to discover that she’s already dating another Man, causing their relationship to be put in the doomed “friend zone”. We’ve all been there, right?
Rafe Spall, Megan Park, Mackenzie Davis and Adam Driver also star.

Singer/Songwriter Sean Lennon made a rare appearance in Toronto today in support of his and Partner, former-Model Charlotte Muhl Kemp‘s latest Album, Midnight Sun. The Disc released under the Duo, The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger, is their third Album together since 2010’s Acoustic Sessions. Critics are calling the acclaimed release, “trippy”. Lennon jokes, “It’s Wizard and Witch Music – Harry Potter Music.”.
After flying in last night, the Duo were round-up early for press at Global Television‘s The Morning Show (National Edition) making it just in time for their interview.
Lennon despite garnering acclaim in his own right as a Musician most widely is recognized as the only Son of The Beatles Legend John Lennon and Yoko Ono.
Lennon and Kemp despite a rushed arrival, were more than kind to take a few minutes out to stop for Photos and Autographs before heading to their Cadillac and continue a day’s worth of interviews!

If there was any doubt that the second season of Netflix‘s ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK lives-up to the promise, then let those fears be alleviated. Black certainly is back and with days left till the release of its new Season, here’s a friendly reminder that you can cancel your weekend plans right now because you will be hooked right from the get-go.
Attending a Screening of the first two episodes of Season Two tonight atop TIFF Bell Lightbox, my jaw dropped to learn that Academy Award-winning Actress Jodie Foster helmed the first episode. Without giving anything away, you will be floored by the performances which many would agree were stepped-up a notch. Taylor Schilling continues to wow and those of us who fell in love with breakout actress Danielle Brooks will find plenty to love about Taystee‘s new character developments.
Some Snaps from the night, including some Series-inspired Cocktails, which were phenomenal:

We all grew-up in the ’80s adoring ANNIE, so I must admit I had my doubts hearing of an upcoming Remake. I’m sorry, but Cameron Diaz just makes this entire Trailer. I’d never imagine her as Miss Hannigan, but it would appear to work! And although Willow Smith originally was cast in the iconic titular role, adorable Quvenzhané Wallis does just fine here. We’re actually excited to see this!
Official Synopsis:
Academy Award® nominee Quvenzhané Wallis (Beasts of the Southern Wild) stars as Annie, a young, happy foster kid who’s also tough enough to make her way on the streets of New York in 2014. Originally left by her parents as a baby with the promise that they’d be back for her someday, it’s been a hard knock life ever since with her mean foster mom Miss Hannigan (Cameron Diaz). But everything’s about to change when the hard-nosed tycoon and New York mayoral candidate Will Stacks (Jamie Foxx) – advised by his brilliant VP, Grace (Rose Byrne) and his shrewd and scheming campaign advisor, Guy (Bobby Cannavale) – makes a thinly-veiled campaign move and takes her in. Stacks believes he’s her guardian angel, but Annie’s self-assured nature and bright, sun-will-come-out-tomorrow outlook on life just might mean it’s the other way around.

Surprise! I mean, really! Jaws dropped as Hollywood Megastar Tom Cruise descended upon Toronto arriving unannounced at a Screening tonight of his latest Blockbuster, Edge of Tomorrow. Cruise, triple Academy Award Nominee and still today one of Cinema’s most bankable Stars is known for a litany of Box Office and Critical Smashes like World War Z, Magnolia, Mission: Impossible, A Few Good Men, Rain Man, Jerry Maguire, Top Gun, Cocktail, Risky Business and several, several more.
After an unbelievable Press Tour yesterday which saw him in one day visit London, New York and Paris, he certainly couldn’t leave-out his beloved Canadian Fans. Did you know he once lived in Ottawa even?
Watch him introduce Edge of Tomorrow to an ultra-exclusive invite-only audience which had no idea he would be there!
Security indeed was beefed-up which was the only indicator the Screening might have been out-of-the-ordinary. Suspicions grew rampant as soon as a Red Carpet was seen set up last minute with only a few Canadian outlets on-site at Scotiabank Theatre.
Edge of TOMorrow (Sorry! We had to do that at least once!) centers on a Soldier fighting a War against Aliens but caught in a time loop on his final day of battle. Emily Blunt also stars opposite Cruise.
Watch the Trailer below:
Of course it wouldn’t be a Toronto visit for a Celebrity without the requisite photo with Mr. Will! We had to ask amidst the sea of Selfie-Seekers and despite it not turning out the first time, Cruise was amazing to own it and snap our Selfie for us. A great sport! We’ve waited our whole life to meet Tom Cruise and the moment was a dream. Our favourite Tom Cruise, you ask? I’d have to say his Rock God Stacee Jaxx performance in the underrated Rock of Ages!

We love Victoria Duffield. In fact she is one of our favourite Canadian Pop Artists and we’re thrilled to get to stream her brand new Album ACCELERATE first! What fun is getting to enjoy something awesome without sharing it with Friends? Duffield‘s first Album, 2012’s SHUT UP AND DANCE got major high rotation on our iPod and we are excited what’s next! Paper Planes and 2 Become 1 are my faves so far upon first listen! Fun.
