DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE dominates a slower weekend at the Box Office, taking $15.7 million from 3,630 theatres Friday to Sunday. This brings it to $603 million by end of Labour Day weekend, now in its sixth weekend out for Marvel/Disney.
In second is ALIEN: ROMULUS with $9 million for 20th Century Studios, bringing its run to $91 million in its third weekend.
IT ENDS WITH US is third in its third weekend, getting $7 million for Sony Pictures. Its domestic run coming in at $135 million.
REAGAN, a Biopic about President Ronald Regan starring Dennis Quaid, gets $7.2 million fro. 1,754 theatres for distributor ShowBiz Direct/Sherry Media Group. It gets 18% from Critics on the Tomatometer.
Fifth goes to TWISTERS with $6 million for Universal Pictures, taking it to $258 million to date.
DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE may have been de-throned last week but it finds itself on-top once again, taking $17 million this weekend from 3,840 theatres for Marvel/Disney. Over four weeks, it has grossed $576 million domestically.
ALIEN: ROMULUS earns $16 million in its second weekend out for 20th Century Studios, a tally of $72.5 million.
Third is IT ENDS WITH US with $11.8 million from 3,839 theatres, taking it to $120 million over three weekends for Sony Pictures.
Fourth is a debuting BLINK TWICE with $7.1 million from 3,067 theatres for Warner Bros. Zoë Kravitz‘s directorial debut gets 79% on the Tomatometer.
THE FORGE, a spiritual film, rounds this Top Five out with $6.4 million from 1,818 theatres for Sony Pictures.
ALIEN: ROMULUS is out of this world with a $40 million debut this weekend from 3,885 theatres for 20th Century Studios. This installment from Director Fede Alvarez, gets 81% on the Tomatometer. Highest franchise opening belongs still to 2012’s PROMETHEUS with $51 million.
Second is DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE with $28 million from 3,960 theatres, for Marvel/Disney. This brings its run to $545.7 million in North America.
Third is IT ENDS WITH US with $23 million from 3,739 theatres, exceeding all expectations and likely bolstered by all the controversy of a feud among its star Blake Lively and Director Justin Baldoni. This takes it to $96.7 million in its second weekend for Sony Pictures.
In fourth is TWISTERS with $8.4 million from 3,483 theatres for Universal Pictures, a total run of $237 million domestically.
Rounding it off is CORALINE‘s re-release with $10.4 million from 1,523 theatres for Focus Features. This brings the 2009 release’s total gross to $92 million.
DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE completely dominate their third frame, taking $55 million from 4,230 theatres this weekend for DIsney/Marvel edging real close to the $500 million-mark in North America.
In second is IT ENDS WITH US with $49 million from 3,611 theatres, giving real-life Hollywood power couple Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively a rare one-two punch! Despite getting 57% on the Tomatometer, audiences are hungry for female-led stories and fans of the book on which this is based by Colleen Hoover, came out in droves.
Third is TWISTERS with $15.4 million for Universal Pictures, taking it to $222 million domestically.
DESPICABLE ME 4 takes fourth with $10 million, also for Universal Pictures, bringing its tally to $322 million.
Debuting in fifth is BORDERLANDS with $9 million for Cineplex Pictures/Lionsgate. This latest from Eli Roth gets 10% on the Tomatometer from Critics.
