#FIRSTLOOK: “TIME” SEASON THREE COMING TO BRITBOX

Today, BritBox released first look images of the third season of the BAFTA-winning hit drama Time, written by multi-award-winning screenwriter Jimmy McGovern (Unforgivable, Cracker, The Street) and Samuel Bailey (Shook). Season 3 is set in a Young Offenders Institution and explores the impact of incarcerating teenagers and the effects on those who look after them.

The first look photos feature David Tennant as Bobby Bailey, a Custodial Manager at the YOI, Siobhan Finneranreprising her role as chaplain Marie-Louise O’Dell, Daniel Ryan as Freddie Jennings, a Custodial Manager at the YOI, Jo Joyner as Nicola, Vinette Robinson as Erica, Louis McCartney as James, Ollie McNulty as Peter and Chukwubuikem Molokwu as Christopher.

Prison Chaplain Marie-Louise comes to the YOI having lost her faith. When tragedy strikes in the prison, Marie-Louise clashes with veteran officer Bailey, a man in the midst of his own crisis. Bailey knows more about the circumstances that led to this major incident – but will he come clean before the guilt gets too much? Meanwhile, two teenage young offenders, Peter and James, struggle through the terrifying first weeks and months of their incarceration. Can James ever face his broken parents after an unforgivable act of violence and will Peter tell the truth about the death of an innocent man, or does family loyalty mean more? An unlikely friendship between them looks to shift the trajectory of their futures, but in an increasingly unstable environment, is change ever possible?

Time Season 3 (3×60’) is a BBC Studios Fiction production for BBC One and BBC iPlayer, co-produced by BritBox for North America with support from Northern Ireland Screen. The series is written by Jimmy McGovern and Samuel Bailey, directed by Paul Whittington (Dear England, This Town) and produced by Amanda Black (Blue Lights, World on Fire). The executive producers are Josh Cole, Andrew Morrissey and Michael Parke for BBC Studios Fiction, Lucy Richer for the BBC, Jon Farrar and Jess O’Riordan for BritBox, and Jimmy McGovern. BBC Studios is handling global sales.

The first two seasons of Time are available to stream on BritBox.

#FIRSTLOOK: “STAGED” SEASON 2 COMING TO HOLLYWOOD SUITE

STAGED Season 2 arrives next month on Hollywood Suite, the acclaimed BBC One Series filmed during the pandemic, starring Michael Sheen and David Tennant playing fictionalized versions of themselves.

Synopsis:

Season 2  follows the “real” Michael Sheen (The Queen) and David Tennant (Doctor Who) following the success of the first season of Staged. Simon Evans (portrayed by creator… Simon Evans) begins work on an American remake of the first series, but the stars are not asked to reprise their roles. Whoopi Goldberg joins the cast as Michael and David’s agent and Ben Schwartz as her assistant.

This eight-part, half-hour series was filmed entirely during the COVID-19 pandemic and features guest appearances by Simon Pegg, Christoph Waltz, Ewan McGregor, Ken Jeong, Jim Parsons, and Josh Gad. Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Cate Blanchett.

The first four episodes of Staged Season 2 will premiere July 20 starting at 9pm ET, with the last four episodes following on July 27 at 9pm ET.  Viewers can catch up on Season 1 now On Demand.

#FIRSTLOOK: “STAGED” ARRIVES ON HOLLYWOOD SUITE APRIL 2021

BBC Lockdown Series STAGED has found a home in Canada on Hollywood Suite! The comedic Series starring Michael Sheen and David Tennant, arrives – you guessed it – April Fool’s Day!

Synopsis:

Actors Michael Sheen (The Queen) and David Tennant (Doctor Who) play fictionalized versions of themselves, trying to rehearse a performance during lockdown via videoconference, while the underconfident director, Simon, struggles to keep control of the production. This six-part, half-hour series was filmed entirely during the COVID-19 pandemic and features guest appearances by Judi Dench, Samuel L. Jackson, and Adrian Lester. 

Two episodes premiere each night April 1–3 beginning at 9pm ET on HS00. The full series will be available on demand from April 1.
