IMAX (NYSE: IMAX) announced today the upcoming “Brandi Carlile: In The Canyon Haze – Live from Laurel Canyon” connected theatre event featuring the six-time Grammy® award-winning recording artist. On September 28th at 6PM PST / 9PM EST, Carlile will perform a special IMAX Live concert event, a one-night-only experience broadcast live to over 100 IMAX® theaters nationwide. The event will be Filmed for IMAX using digital certified cameras. Directed by Sam Wrench (Billie Eilish, Mary J. Blige) and broadcast live from Los Angeles’ storied Laurel Canyon neighborhood, the one-time-only performance will feature Carlile and her band performing the lushly reimagined versions of each song from her new deluxe album, “In The Canyon Haze,” for the very first time. The unique and immersive live theatrical event will bring audiences up close and personal with the singer for the first time in IMAX. |
“In The Canyon Haze,” the deluxe edition of Carlile’s acclaimed #1 album, “In These Silent Days”, will be released the same day, September 28, on Low Country Sound/Elektra Records. The expanded project features each song from the original album, including the three-time GRAMMY nominated song “Right On Time,” as well as a special rendition of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity.” “I’ve made a terrifying and beautiful commitment to livestream a complete performance of my new project In the Canyon Haze to IMAX theatres across the country,” said Carlile. “The music and harmonies are complex and lush…anything could happen. You will hear these songs like you’ve never heard them before and I expect that it’ll be one of the most potent and welcome challenges of my career to bring this to you in such stark detail. Live is live. Rock and roll is a risk and I’m HERE for it! Together, with our incredibly talented director Sam Wrench, we hope to deliver an enhanced and intimate cinematic experience that hasn’t been attempted before. Along with my band and some very special guests, I’m going to be performing In The Canyon Haze in its entirety, set against the fertile ground of Laurel Canyon and the music scene that inspired this reimagined album. |
The best part is that our audience will be there to join us in community for this one-night-only performance, live and in real time in state-of-the-art IMAX theatres. This is the one and only time I wish I was in the audience instead of on the stage! We hope you enjoy this film as much as we’re going to enjoy bringing this music to life on the big screen. Get your tickets right away! I’ll see you all in the canyon.” “Brandi Carlile is one of the world’s best live performers,” said Megan Colligan, President of IMAX Entertainment. “To have her in IMAX LIVE performing her new album for the first time ever, from iconic Laurel Canyon, on the very day her album drops is an amazing opportunity for IMAX and an awesome experience for fans around the world. This will be a night fans won’t ever forget.” Tickets are now on sale. |
