#FIRSTLOOK: NEW “NETFLIX IN YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD” ADDITIONS (APRIL 2025)

Netflix Canada are excited to announce the addition of four new, Canadian-filmed shows to the Netflix in Your Neighbourhood website! The update, which went live today, includes the new series’ North of North; Black Mirror Season 7 Episode 1; Season 2 of The Recruit; and the new competition series Million Dollar Secret. The newly added series were filmed across Vancouver, Surrey, Burnaby and Kelowna, as well as Nunavut, which makes its debut on Netflix in Your Neighbourhood site.

Netflix in Your Neighbourhood launched in 2021 to help fans discover the many Canadian filming locations for their favourite Netflix movies and shows. The ultimate fan guide, Netflix in Your Neighbourhood, offers crafted suggestions for top tourist destinations and local gems, including culinary delights, cozy accommodations, cultural attractions, iconic landmarks and more; all connected to popular Canadian-filmed Netflix titles such as Ginny & Georgia, Fubar and Avatar: The Last Airbender. NORTH OF NORTH (seen above) – A young Inuk woman wants to build a new future for herself after a spontaneous — and extremely public — exit from her marriage. But it won’t be easy in a small Arctic town where everybody knows your business. This Canadian show was filmed in Iqaluit and Apex.

BLACK MIRROR S7 E1 – The first episode of season 7 focuses on a medical emergency that leaves schoolteacher Amanda fighting for her life, her desperate husband Mike signs her up for Rivermind, a high-tech system that will keep her alive – but at a cost. This dark and satirical episode was filmed in Vancouver and Surrey.

THE RECRUIT – CIA Lawyer, Owen Hendricks, pulled into a life-threatening espionage situation in South Korea, only to realize that the bigger threat just might be coming from inside the Agency. This show is filmed in and around Burnaby and Vancouver.

MILLION DOLLAR SECRET – This new competition show is a game of wit, cunning and deception. Twelve strangers enter a sumptuous lakeside estate and in each of their rooms is a mysterious welcome gift — a box. Eleven of them are empty and one contains $1,000,000, and it’s for that guest to keep — as long as they keep their identity hidden. Devilish games will reveal clues about the millionaire’s identity, and they must do whatever it takes to keep their ‘Million Dollar Secret’. This new show was filmed in Kelowna and Golden.
