It’s clear! GLASS tops of the Box Office decisively in its opening. The latest from M. Night Shyamalan which sees characters from his previous successes Unbreakable and Split, debuts with $42.8 million from 3,841 theatres for Universal Pictures. It gets a 35% on the Tomatometer and a B CinemaScore.
In second is last week’s champ THE UPSIDE with $15.3 million from 3,320 theatres, proving a highly-bankable venture from STX Entertainment/Elevation Pictures. In two weeks, it has made $46.9 million.
AQUAMAN still is going strong in third with $10.3 million for Warner Bros., a five week tally of $304.6 million in North America.
A DOG’S WAY HOME lands in fourth with $$7.6 million for Sony Pictures, a total of $24 million over two weeks domestically.
DRAGON BALL SUPER: BROLY debuts in sixth with $6.6 million for FUNimation Films, from 500 theatres with a release both sides of the border. It gets 79% on the Tomatometer.
ON THE BASIS OF SEX rounds-out the Top Ten with $3.9 million from 1,957 theatres for Focus Features/Universal Pictures. It has grossed $17.6 million over four weeks in these parts.
