Today, Prime Video announced the premiere date for American Rust: Broken Justice, the long-awaited second season of the compelling crime drama American Rust starring Emmy-winner Jeff Daniels (The Newsroom) and Golden Globe-winner Maura Tierney (The Affair). All 10 new episodes of Season Two will be available on March 28, 2024, exclusively on Prime Video in the U.S., UK, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. American Rust: Broken Justice will be a part of the savings, convenience, and entertainment that Prime members enjoy in a single membership.

American Rust: Broken Justice takes us back to the fictional small town of Buell, Pennsylvania. Del Harris (Daniels) and Grace Poe (Tierney) try to rebuild their lives after the harrowing events of Season One. Season Two picks up with a string of seemingly unrelated murders, hinting at a much larger conspiracy that threatens everyone in this small, tight-knit town.

Based on Philipp Meyer’s critically acclaimed novel of the same name, the first season of American Rust premiered on Showtime, exploring the tattered American Dream in a Rust Belt town in southwest Pennsylvania through the eyes of police chief Del Harris. Harris becomes compromised when the son of the woman he loves (Tierney) is accused of murder, and he is forced to decide what he’s willing to do to protect him.

The International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights Geneva (FIFDH) announced documentary ‘An Unfinished Journey’ as part of their upcoming 22nd Edition of the festival, which will run from March 8-17th, 2024. The film, directed by American documentary filmmaker Amie Williams (Uncommon Ground, We are Wisconsin) and Canadian documentary filmmaker Aeyliya Husain (Shooting War, The Fifth Region), is also one of 16 films chosen to be part of the festival’s Impact Days. The film premieres on Tuesday, March 12th at 7:30 pm in the International Focus Competition. The film is produced by HitPlay Productions and Les Films D’Ici; producers include Nadine Pequeneza and Charlotte Uzu. It is currently out to market seeking domestic and international distribution.

“The situation in Afghanistan, especially for women, is dire and needs further attention by the international community,” say filmmakers Amie Williams and Aeyliya Husain. “The opportunity to showcase the film on a world stage in front of changemakers at FIFDH Geneva could help us start the conversations that will make a difference.”

“An Unfinished Journey’ focuses on four women: Homaira Ayubi, a former member of parliament in Farah Province; Zefnoon Safi, a former member of parliament in Laghman province; Nilofar Moradi, a former TV reporter and journalist; and Nargis Nehan, a former Afghan Minister of Mines and Petroleum. As a result of their prominent positions and advocacy for women’s rights, all four women were forced to flee Afghanistan in the aftermath of the Taliban take-over. The documentary follows their journey to Canada and efforts to raise awareness around the world about the plight of Afghanistan, especially women in Afghanistan.

This year the festival’s Impact Days program has selected 16 projects to participate in a two-day forum connecting filmmakers, NGOs and funders committed to the advancement of human rights around the world. ‘An Unfinished Journey’ is one of two films chosen to both participate at Impact Days and screen at the festival. The film’s world premiere will be followed by a discussion with the film’s co-directors, protagonist Former Afghan Minister Nargis Nehan and a local organization International Service for Human Rights (ISHR) advocating for ‘gender apartheid’ to be recognized as an international crime.

Synopsis:
Forced to flee their country after the Taliban take-over in 2021, four Afghan women leaders struggle to keep the world’s attention on the unfolding crisis in Afghanistan, while coming to terms with what it means to have their power usurped and two decades of progress dismantled. From their distant exile-countries these four female leaders – past parliamentarians, ministers and journalists – watch the Taliban strip women and girls of the right to be educated, to work and to participate in society. To celebrate the ultra-sexy, lavish third season of Bridgerton, Netflix and Shondaland hosted a fan event releasing news about the upcoming season that premieres in two parts on May 16 and June 13, 2024. The panel included Executive Producer, Shonda Rhimes, season three showrunner, Jess Brownell, author of the original Bridgerton novels, Julia Quinn, and cast members: Nicola Coughlan, Luke Newton, Golda Rosheuvel, Adjoa Andoh, Claudia Jessie, Luke Thompson, and Martins Imhangbe. The panel unveiled episode titles, exclusive character photos, confirmation of book-to-episode adaptations, a surprise fan wedding announcement, and a sneak peek of the season premiere.

The panel began with a conversation between Shonda Rhimes and Jess Brownell about what fans can anticipate for season three, along with insights from author Julia Quinn on the adaptation of the source material. They confirmed the fan-favorite moment in the novel, Romancing Mr. Bridgerton, where Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) wraps Colin Bridgerton’s (Luke Newton) hand after he accidentally cuts it, will be included. Jess Brownell then unveiled episode titles that teased the season’s story arc which can be found here.

“Usually we’re meeting a new person who’s falling in love with one of our regulars,” said Shonda Rhimes when asked about what excites her most this season. “But this time, we know the people who are falling in love. We’re already rooting for them because we already know them, and I’m excited for that.”

“Colin and Penelope are underdogs in many ways…we get to see these characters step into their power this year, which I think will make a lot of people who have ever had an unrequited crush or felt like an underdog before feel very seen,” said Jess Brownell.

Next, Rhimes, Brownell, and Quinn were joined by the cast to tease their characters’ arcs for the season, and introduced a strong new suitor for Coughlan’s Penelope– Lord Debling (Sam Phillips). Fans were also rewarded with exclusive photos from the forthcoming season of their favorite characters including Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie), Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson), Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel), Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh), Cressida Cowper (Jessica Madsen), Will Mondrich (Martins Imhangbe), Alice Mondrich (Emma Naomi) and the Featherington sisters Prudence Featherington (Bessie Carter) and Philipa Featherington (Harriet Cains).

In a delightful twist, Adjoa Andoh and Golda Rosheuvel revealed Netflix will be celebrating the love of fans by rewarding one super-fan couple with a Bridgerton-themed wedding, further solidifying the bond shared between the series and its’ dedicated fan base.
