Some highlights:
At the heart of the experience is Yorkdale’s 15-ft-tall Fire Horse sculpture, positioned in the central corridor between H&M and Zara. Illuminated from within, the sculpture blends modern technology with the spirit of fire, creating a sense of warmth, energy and optimism for the year ahead.
The immersive Golden Gates offer an additional Lunar New Year photo moment and are located between Holt Renfrew and Bottega Veneta. Guests can experience intricately designed archways paired with a statement runway celebrating the Year of the Horse, creating a must-see destination and high-impact visual moment.
The celebration will come to life with a community-focused program featuring a lion dance performance at 5:00 pm in Simons Court, which will include a traditional eye dotting ceremony, drum routine and a Kung Fu demonstration. Mayor Olivia Chow will participate in the Eye Dotting ceremony and deliver remarks.

Today, it was announced that the “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special” is coming to Disney+ on March 24, 2026. The special will celebrate the iconic series that defined a generation — exactly two decades after its debut.
The special will be filmed in front of a live studio audience and will feature an exclusive, in-depth interview with Miley Cyrus, hosted by Alex Cooper. The conversation will offer an intimate look at the creation of one of pop culture’s most iconic characters and the lasting impact the show and character have had on fans around the world. With heartfelt nostalgia and fresh perspective, Cyrus will revisit the moments, music and memories that defined an era. Viewers will be treated to never-before-seen archival footage, while some of the most memorable sets from “Hannah Montana” are brought back to life — including the Stewart family living room and the legendary Hannah Montana closet. There will also be some familiar notes that find their way back into the spotlight…

Toei Animation and Crunchyroll today announced the return of the ONE PIECE Simulcast on Crunchyroll this spring with the start of the Elbaph Arc, continuing the global anime phenomenon with an all-new chapter in the Straw Hats’ journey. Crunchyroll also confirmed a March 2026 release window for the final English dub batch from the Egghead Arc, bringing the complete Egghead Arc to Crunchyroll in English dub.

CBC today announced the greenlight of six new and returning original kids series from Canadian creators and producers, reinforcing the national public broadcaster’s commitment to serve children and families with homegrown storytelling that inspires, entertains and informs.
“Preschoolers and school-aged children will be delighted by the iconic characters and stunning animation in these highly creative shows that will not only entertain but also spark curiosity in kids across Canada,” said Sally Catto, General Manager, Entertainment, Factual and Sports, CBC. “We are proud to continue to partner with Canadian producers to better serve young audiences and support the children’s content industry in this country.”
The continued expansion of programming for young audiences supports CBC/Radio-Canada’s Here for Canada strategy, strengthening the pillar of bringing people together through the creation of new content for children and youth that represents communities and perspectives from across the country.

At the 76th Berlinale Film Festival, Prime Video today announced that The House of the Spirits, the first Spanish-language television adaptation of Isabel Allende’s iconic novel, will premiere globally on April 29, 2026 in over 240 countries and territories worldwide.

Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie had an incredible opening weekend, pulling in an estimated 290K for three days and a projected 350k for the four-day holiday, making it the biggest opening for a live-action English Canadian title since BlackBerry.
Cineplex Scotiabank Theatre ranked #1 in North America, ahead of IFC Center in NYC and Music Box Theatre in Chicago. In Canada, it was followed by Cineplex Yonge-Dundas and Fox Theatre. The result is especially notable given the film opened on half as many screens as BlackBerry when it released in 2023. Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie, distributed in the U.S. by NEON, is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a 97% critics score and 96% audience score.
Plans to support the film’s second week in theatres continue, as Elevation Pictures has confirmed a merch pop-up at The Rivoli on February 21 from 12–3 p.m. ET, with co-creators Matt Johnson and Jay McCarroll in attendance. Merch will also be available for Canadians to purchase online.
