The Original Soundtrack for Disney’s “Freakier Friday,” the eagerly anticipated sequel to the beloved 2003 film, is available today from Hollywood Records. The soundtrack is comprised of all-new recordings by the film’s cast and fictional band “Pink Slip” and more, as well as an all-new original score from composer Amie Doherty. Linda Cohen serves as music supervisor.

The soundtrack includes all-new recordings of the iconic Pink Slip song “Take Me Away” from the original film, produced by Suzy Shinn (known for her work with Panic! at the Disco, Weezer, Fall Out Boy, Alicia Keys, and Dua Lipa), with lead vocals performed by returning cast Christina Vidal Mitchell. A cover of Pink Slip’s “Ultimate” is performed by Canadian alternative rock band The Beaches, who were bestowed the Juno Award for Group of the Year in 2024 and 2025. Multi-platinum songwriter and producer Sarah Aarons (known for her work with Zedd, Alessia Cara, and Maren Morris) contributed the original song “Baby.”

We weren’t playing for laughs; the music had to sell the drama, because that’s what makes the comedy land.

I grew up loving The Naked Gun and Police Squad! — they were a big part of my childhood. Ira Newborn’s original theme is iconic, and I really wanted to honour that noir-inspired, brassy sound while bringing a fresh energy for today’s audience. That contrast — serious music underscoring ridiculous situations — is what makes this world so fun to play in.

We recorded the score at the Warner Scoring Stage in Los Angeles, and one of my favorite cues is the film’s opening. It starts with this dark, ominous tension and then launches into an explosive action sequence. It lets the audience know exactly what kind of movie they’re in for — one that plays it straight, no matter how unhinged things get.

Scoring this film was all about finding that balance: emotional sincerity and total absurdity, colliding in the best way possible.”

ABOUT LORNE BALFE

Lorne Balfe has created music in virtually all genres and for all visual media with projects ranging from major studio to independent films, tent pole video game franchises, beloved animated feature films, critically acclaimed television series, and documentary features.

Originally from Inverness, Scotland, Lorne’s love of music and writing was evident from an early age. His childhood home had a residential recording studio where the likes of Ozzy Osbourne and Inner Circle would record – the latter of which he serendipitously worked with for his score to Bad Boys for Life.

As early as eight years-old, Lorne began writing and selling his composed “jingles” for advertisements, and at the age of thirteen he auditioned to be a percussionist with the Edinburgh Symphony Orchestra, becoming their youngest member, and traveled around Scotland with them professionally. Further cementing his role in the series, he returned to compose the music for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, Part One, released in July 2023. Demonstrating his remarkable versatility, Balfe scored the Netflix nature docuseries Life on Our Planet, executive produced by Steven Spielberg. More of Lorne’s work can be heard in Oscar nominated Top Gun: Maverick (Paramount) which garnered 1.488 billion in the global box office. Oasis headlines Hollywood Suite’s August programming with the exclusive Canadian premiere of Oasis: Live at the City of Manchester Stadium (2005) on August 24, 2025. After splitting up in 2009, Canada welcomes the band on their record-breaking sold-out reunion tour next month. For those who didn’t score tickets, Hollywood Suite is bringing the concert experience to your home, alongside more exclusive Canadian film premieres on the channel, including Skeet (2024) and The Legend in Me (2024).

“We may not have been able to get tickets to the upcoming show at the new Rogers Stadium, but that doesn’t mean we don’t get to experience the excitement,” said Suzanne Marshall, Hollywood Suite Senior Manager, Programming. “Two decades since their Manchester concert, it’s time to amp up the nostalgia with a trip to Oasis Live in 2005.”

Following the release of their 6th studio album, Oasis: Live at the City of Manchester Stadium (2005) documents the band’s triumphant return to their hometown, Manchester, for the concert of a lifetime. Directed by famed music film director Dick Carruthers (Led Zeppelin Celebration Day, The Rolling Stones Bridges To Babylon), the film will premiere on the Hollywood Suite 2000s Movies Channel August 24 at 9pm ET.

Also premiering on Hollywood Suite is Skeet (2024), a drama film set in St. John’s, NL, about a recently released convict, Billy Skinner. Upon returning to his low-income neighbourhood, Billy, played by Sean Dalton of the Canadian rock band The Trews, finds that what was once a predominantly white neighbourhood is now mostly occupied by refugee families. Directed by Nik Sexton (Good People), the film has won and been nominated for multiple accolades, including the Canadian Screen Awards and the Atlantic Film Festival awards. It is set to premiere on the Hollywood Suite 2010s+ Movies Channel August 6 at 9pm ET.

The Legend in Me (2024) is a documentary following Chas Conacher, the great-grandchild of Canadian sports legend Lionel Conacher, and the challenges they face while exploring both the weight of their family’s star-athlete lineage and the evolving landscape of queer identity. Available exclusively on Hollywood Suite, the film will premiere on the Hollywood Suite 2010s+ Movies Channel+ August 27 at 9pm ET.

Additionally, on Hollywood Suite this August is the Summer of Stars collection, including titles starring Denzel Washington, Jane Fonda and more; Crime Wave featuring films from Scarface (1983) to Hot Fuzz (2007); and Rotten Tomatoes “Certified Fresh” movies like Wildhood (2021) and Singin’ in the Rain (1952).

“Eenie Meanie,” an irreverent high-speed thriller from 20th Century Studios, will premiere August 22, 2025, exclusively on Disney+.

The original film follows a former teenage getaway driver who is dragged back into her unsavory past when a previous employer offers her the chance to save the life of her chronically unreliable ex-boyfriend. “Eenie Meanie” is written and directed by Shawn Simmons and stars Samara Weaving as the titular character Edie, also known as Eenie Meanie. The film also stars Karl Glusman, Jermaine Fowler, Marshawn Lynch, Randall Park, with Steve Zahn and Andy Garcia. The producers are Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick, and Marty Ewing.
