This much-awaited follow-up to VIMEO Staff Pick EVERY OTHER WEEKEND, is a Toronto-set dark comedy and character study that pushes its protagonists to the brink.
BID16 takes us into the frantic race of Carmen in the streets of Toronto.
Her storage locker – and everything she owns – is set for auction by morning. As a last-ditch effort, she convinces her little brother Anthony to help her steal her own stuff back. Caught, kicked out, and warned not to return, Carmen is forced to choose: get her things back, or preserve her relationship with the brother who won’t stop chasing after her.
This is a character study of a woman who’d rather break the rules than let them break her, co-directed by the Toronto-based duo Mick Robertson and Margaret Rose
(Every Other Weekend, 2024).
