What happens when you’re 31 years old and find out that your parents, are maybe not entirely in fact your parents? No, you’re not adopted, your parents just struggled to conceive and used a sperm donor and thus you were created, so half your genetics are not from your father and lo and behold you don’t know how to process this information. Well, if your name is Noam Tomaschoff and you have some musical friends the best therapy is the one you share with the world. This was the birth of Our Little Secret: A True New Musical.
Noam found out about his parent’s secret at the ripe age of 31, and created this show so they could heal, so he could process, he wanted to know who the donor was, and how to process this newfound information, so he did what any theatre kid would do – he wrote, and stars in this one man musical about Our Little Secret.
Noam as the star and creator of the show is fantastic, he has a blast, has a powerful voice, but it’s incredibly grounded and heartfelt. It’s not a role an actor can just sink into, but when the role is literally your life, and this is just what you did to get where you are now, then the world is your oyster. Growing from a small production into the Toronto Fringe show, into the Edinburgh Fringe show now the Mirvish production – Our Little Secret: A True New Musical is sure to delight audiences while pulling at their heart strings ever so slightly.
On stage now until November 22, 2026 at CAA Theatre. Tickets here.
