#FIRSTLOOK: RCHIVE AND SCORPION DAGGER AT YORKVILLE MURALS 2026

Yorkville Murals is set to take place later this month in the City’s most glamorous district! RCHIVE will be playing a big part of the event.

RCHIVE, Toronto’s multidisciplinary fashion and creative platform for the next generation of designers, artists and cultural innovators, will transform Yorkville into a live fashion studio at Yorkville Murals (YVM) on August 22–23, 2026. Across both festival days, emerging designers Zoe Stone, Alexander Nicholson and Maya Ali will create original avant-garde collections in real time. On Saturday, each designer will create a conceptual menswear look, followed by a conceptual womenswear look on Sunday. The completed garments will be installed throughout Yorkville as sculptural public artworks, blurring the boundaries between fashion, performance, and installation. YVM returns August 22–23, 2026, and will welcome more than 70,000 visitors to discover internationally acclaimed artists, emerging creative voices, monumental public art, and live cultural experiences.

Montreal-based visual artist Scorpion Dagger is bringing his cinematic meets pop-culture work to life at this year’s Yorkville Murals from Aug 22-23, 2026 through a free, open-air installation presented by Anker.

Projected using Anker’s Nebula X1 Pro, the installation translates Scorpion Dagger’s distinctive moving artwork into a large-scale public experience in the heart of Toronto. It taps into the growing appetite for immersive projection art but takes it out of ticketed indoor venues and puts it directly on the street, free and accessible throughout the weekend.

The technology is part of the story. Starting at $6,000 CAD, the consumer-grade Nebula X1 Pro can deliver an experience typically associated with large commercial installation systems, significantly lowering the barrier to outdoor projection art for artists and audiences alike.

Anker will also serve as Yorkville Murals’ official charging partner, with designated stations where visitors can power their phones and devices. The partnership is part of Anker’s Summer Connection campaign, which celebrates technology that keeps Canadians connected through the moments that define summer from patios and cottage weekends to camping trips and arts festivals.

#FIRSTLOOK: YORKVILLE MURALS RETURN AUGUST 22-23, 2026

Yorkville Murals (YVM) is back from August 22–23, 2026 to transform the neighbourhood into a vibrant open-air celebration of visual art, fashion, photography, music, poetry and design. The free festival will welcome more than 70,000 visitors to discover internationally acclaimed artists, emerging creative voices, monumental public art and live cultural experiences unfolding throughout the village.

Now in its seventh year, YVM has grown into one of Canada’s leading multidisciplinary cultural festivals, reimagining streets, courtyards and public spaces as places to experience art, creativity and connection. Guided by this year’s theme, JOY, the festival celebrates the belief that culture has the power to bring people together and transform the way we experience our cities.

YORKVILLE AS THE CANVAS

At the centre of this year’s festival is The Sunset Garden, a monumental wraparound courtyard mural by internationally acclaimed Canadian artist Ola Volo. The immersive installation transforms the Taglialatella Gallery courtyard into a vibrant world inspired by mythology, transformation and nature. Throughout the weekend, the courtyard comes alive with live DJs, drinks and all-day programming, creating an open-air gathering place where art, music and community converge. Through PATTISON Outdoor’s Community Connections program, the work also extends beyond Yorkville to TTC platforms and digital billboards across Toronto, bringing the festival into the everyday lives of commuters.

Ola Volo is currently creating her masterpiece in the courtyard of Taglialatella Gallery until Friday.

ABOUT OLA VOLO

Ola Volo (BFA, Emily Carr University) is a Canadian Mural artist and illustrator from Kazakhstan with a distinctive style drawn from folklore, multiculturalism and identity. Her intricate works bring animals, people, architecture and nature together to articulate diverse stories rich with symbolism and elaborate forms. Ola creates complex narratives that acknowledge the subtleties of human nature while celebrating the little surprises of everyday life.
