It’s HOPPERS on-top again a second week at the Box Office, taking $30 million, bringing the Disney and Pixar release to $88.3 million over two weekends.
REMINDERS OF HIM debuts in second with $18 million from 3,402 theatres for Universal Pictures, getting a 58% on the Tomatometer.
Third is undertone with $8.5 million from 2,570 theatres across North America for VVS Films/A24. It gets 76% on the Tomatometer.
Fourth goes to SCREAM 7 with $7.5 million from 3,243 theatres. This takes it to $105.6 million for Paramount Pictures.
Rounding the Top Five is GOAT with $5 million, taking it to $90.8 million for Sony Pictures.
After winning the gold Audience Award at the Fantasia Fest last year, and huge raves at Sundance, undertone is ready now to be heard! The Horror centers on a paranormal Podcaster named Evy (Nina Kiri) who receives ten mysterious audio files which are increasingly terrifying, as a theat looms closer and closer to home, challenging her sanity.
First-time feature Writer/Director Ian Tuason uses Sound Mixing and Design to craft a haunting atmosphere in undertone, which premiered at Scotiabank Theatre.
The Cast led by Nina Kiri (The Handmaid’s Tale) and Adam DiMarco (The White Lotus), and Crew celebrated its release with a spirited celebration. An installation by Coolab mimicing the film set, which happens to be Tuason’s actual childhood home in the west end.
The screening was followed by a Q&A moderated by Fantasia’s Carolyn Mauricette. Highlights:
