Few Chinese Artists are successfully able to take the path that Raymond Lam (林峯) has, but even after 27 years in show business, he is regarded highly as an icon and Megastar of Music, Television and Film. Based on Hong Kong after signing a contracted with top network there, TVB, his fame rose very quickly starring in popular series Moonlight Resonance, The Master of Tai Chi, The Mysteries of Love, Line Walker, and more. The success continued into Film starring Perfect Wedding, The Jade and the Pearl, and more and to this day he is still actively working and thriving.
He visited Toronto this past weekend, ahead of his sold-out Fallsview Casino show in Niagara Falls this past Sunday where he brought his GO WITH THE FLOW Tour, to adoring fans.
Some highlights of his arrival:
He genuinely is so kind and patient with fans, some who brought several items for him to sign. He also took pictures graciously, before heading-off. We knew people loved Lam, but the reaction and response the clip above has gotten is jaw-dropping! What a legend.

One anticipated event every spring is Fairchild Television’s TVB Fan Party held at Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The show usually brings-in four popular names from Hong Kong’s TVB Network giving contest winners a chance to see them speak and sing. The night before the Convention Centre appearance, the stars appear at Markham’s First Markham Place for an autograph signing which usually draws people out by the hundreds.
Fairchild Television and Radio have been instrumental in creating unique Canadian content for the Chinese community here in Canada including securing rights to TVB Series from Hong Kong, allowing immigrants new and old to stay in touch with programming from back home.
Appearing this year are former Miss Chinese International and now popular TV Actress, Vancouver’s Eliza Sam, who just a few years back couldn’t speak a word of Cantonese. Also in town are former Miss Hong Kong Rebecca Zhu who earlier this year won a Best Supporting Actress Award on her network. Former Mr. Hong Kong, Benjamin Yuen, who is one of the busiest new leading men on TVB also came, as did Mat Yeung who has had a lasting career in supporting roles over the past decade turning his luck around after some troubled times.
We grew-up on TVB Series and love supporting our Chinese-Canadian community. Although thr quartet were exhausted after a long flight and night of meeting corporate sponsors and fans, they were nice to stop for a few Selfies.

An annual fixture within the Chinese-Canadian community, the Miss Chinese Toronto Pagaent took place last night at Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The Winner of the Competition goes on to complete in the Miss Chinese International Pageant, broadcast on Hong Kong’s premier Network, TVB. Several Finalists in the past have gone on to use the Pageant as a springboard to successful careers in Asian Television and Cinema.
This year’s Special Guest was Sammy Sum, who has risen to prominence as an Actor, Singer and Songwriter in recent years. He actually immigrated to Montreal from Hong Kong as a child before launching a prominent career in Asia. Sum in addition to making appearances for Canada’s top Chinese Television Station Fairchild, he also busked amidst the bustle of Chinatown yesterday.
We were lucky enough to meet the star who was en route back to Hong Kong after a musical performance at last night’s Pageant. Learn more about Miss Chinese Toronto here. We are proud of our friend Gloria Li, last year’s winner who handed her tiara to this year’s Victress Tiffany Choi.
Sum‘s Instagram can be found here.
