Paramount+ today revealed the official trailer for its new original series STAR TREK: STARFLEET ACADEMY, which will premiere with two episodes on Thursday, January 15z 2026 on Paramount+ in Canada and the U.S. Following the premiere, new episodes of the 10-episode long season will drop weekly on Thursdays, with the season finale on Thursday, March 12, 2026.
Stephen Colbert also announced in a special video that he will be the voice of Starfleet Academy’s “Digital Dean of Students,” giving daily announcements to the students and alerting them of anything that needs their immediate attention.

Paramount+ today released an electrifying first look teaser trailer for its new original series, STAR TREK: STARFLEET ACADEMY. The series is set to premiere on the service in early 2026 as a kick off to the year’s STAR TREK 60th anniversary celebrations.
The highly-anticipated first look teaser featured the series’ iconic campus in San Francisco plus the new starship, and integral part of the Starfleet Academy campus, the U.S.S. Athena. In addition, new details about the STARFLEET ACADEMY characters were revealed:
Academy Award winner Holly Hunter as Nahla Ake, the Chancellor of Starfleet Academy and Captain of the U.S.S. Athena, who also happens to be a long-lived half-Lanthanite.
The STARFLEET ACADEMY cadets:
Sandro Rosta is Caleb Mir, an orphan with a troubled past – and unlikely Starfleet cadet.
Karim Diané is Jay-Den Kraag, a Klingon cadet who dreams of becoming a medical officer.
Kerrice Brooks is Series Acclimation Mil, a.k.a. Sam, the first of her kind to ever attend Starfleet Academy.

Paramount+ today announced that season four of its hit original series STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS will feature a puppet themed episode, featuring U.S.S. Enterprise crew members as puppets created by the iconic Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. The episode is directed by Jordan Canning (Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock).
The reveal was made during today’s STAR TREK universe presentation in Hall H at Comic-Con® International in San Diego, CA. Moderated by STAR TREK legend Robert Picardo, the STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS panel portion featured a conversation with co-showrunners and executive producers Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers, executive producer Alex Kurtzman, and cast members Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, Jess Bush, Christina Chong and Paul Wesley.
In addition, the Hall H audience was treated to a surprise advance screening of the series’ upcoming new episode, “A Space Adventure Hour,” ahead of its debut this Thursday, July 31 on Paramount+. Directed by Jonathan Frakes, the episode incorporates a ‘murder mystery’ theme: When La’An (Chong) tests a prototype holodeck with a fictional case only she can solve, the consequences of failure get greater and greater, with the Enterprise hanging in the balance.

A big bash was held in support of the film starring Michelle Yeoh, who reprises her role as Philippa Georgiou. Here, she confronts her past actions and love as she teams with Section 31 to protect the United Federation of Planets.
Director Olatunde Osunsanmi along with stars Kacey Rohl and Humberly Gonzalez, came out and graced us with their presence at a special screening, hosted by Hotel X. They spoke at a Q&A following the film, before staying behind to meet attendees including fans, influencers and media at a reception.

#FIRSTLOOK: “STAR TREK: STARFLEET ACADEMY” RENEWED FOR SECOND SEASON
Paramount+ announced that the original series STAR TREK: STARFLEET ACADEMY has been renewed for a second season. The news comes as season one is currently in production in Toronto. It was also announced that Emmy Award winner Canadian Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) will be a recurring special guest star in season one. The announcements were made during STAR TREK universe panel at New York Comic Con, moderated by featured host of CBS MORNINGS and CBS News national correspondent Vladimir Duthiers, where Robert Picardo (STAR TREK: VOYAGER, STARFLEET ACADEMY, PRODIGY) made an unexpected on-stage appearance before introducing a surprise livestream straight from the set of STAR TREK: STARFLEET ACADEMY.
The livestream from set included executive producer and co-showrunner Alex Kurtzman, who is currently directing the series, as he announced that STAR TREK: STARFLEET ACADEMY has been greenlit for a second season alongside cast members including Sandro Rosta, Kerrice Brooks, Bella Shepard, George Hawkins, Karim Diané and Zoë Steiner.
Produced by CBS Studios, STAR TREK: STARFLEET ACADEMY will follow the adventures of a new class of Starfleet cadets as they come of age in one of the most legendary places in the galaxy. The series will introduce viewers to this young group of cadets as they come together to pursue a common dream of hope and optimism. Under the watchful and demanding eyes of their instructors, they will discover what it takes to become Starfleet officers as they navigate blossoming friendships, explosive rivalries, first loves and a new enemy that threatens both the Academy and the Federation itself.
Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau serve as co-showrunners and executive produce the series alongside executive producers Gaia Violo, Aaron Baiers, Olatunde Osunsanmi, Jenny Lumet, Rod Roddenberry, Trevor Roth, Frank Siracusa and John Weber. The series’ premiere episode is written by Gaia Violo. STAR TREK: STARFLEET ACADEMY is produced by CBS Studios in association with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment. Paramount+ today debuted a teaser trailer for its original movie STAR TREK: SECTION 31 during the STAR TREK universe panel at San Diego Comic-Con. The movie made its Hall H debut with cast members Omari Hardwick, Sam Richardson and Canadian Kacey Rohl, along with executive producer Alex Kurtzman and director Olatunde Osunsanmi. The panel featured a surprise video “interruption” from the film’s star, Oscar® winner Michelle Yeoh, who introduced the teaser.
The new teaser also revealed a first look at a young Philippa Georgiou, played by Toronto-born Miku Martineau (Kate).
In the movie, slated to premiere in early 2025, Yeoh reprises her fan-favorite role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou – a character she played in STAR TREK: DISCOVERY’s first season – who joins a secret division of Starfleet. Tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets, she also must face the sins of her past.
STAR TREK: SECTION 31 also stars Omari Hardwick (Power), Kacey Rohl (Hannibal), Emmy® winner Sam Richardson (Ted Lasso), Sven Ruygrok (One Piece), Robert Kazinsky (Pacific Rim), Canadian Humberly Gonzalez (Ginny & Georgia) and James Hiroyuki Liao (Barry).
