#FOOD: SCARBOROUGH TOWN CENTRE HOSTS MABUHAY SCARBOROUGH: FILIPINO FIESTA

For the first time ever, Scarborough Town Centre (STC) is celebrating the vibrancy and traditions of Filipino culture with Mabuhay Scarborough: Filipino Fiesta, a three-day event, in collaboration with Scarborough Spots, bringing together community, creativity and cultural expression from June 5 to 7, 2026.

Rooted in the diversity of Scarborough, home to one of the country’s largest Filipino communities, the event highlights the traditions, talent and stories of this rich culture through immersive experiences, local vendors and live programming. Shopping centre guests are invited to explore a curated Filipino market, enjoy cultural performances, capture moments at a custom Jeepney (traditional Filipino commuter vehicle) photo installation and take part in a live podcast recording by Tita Salita, a popular Filipino-Canadian podcast star.

“This event recognizes the scale and significance of Scarborough’s Filipino community. Scarborough Town Centre is in the heart of a vibrant and diverse community and this event reinforces STC’s role as a cultural hub,” said Karen Calibuso-Kwa, Marketing Manager of Scarborough Town Centre. “Mabuhay Scarborough: Filipino Fiesta is an open invitation for guests of all backgrounds to come together, discover and celebrate Filipino culture through shared experiences, storytelling and meaningful connection.”

Event Highlights:

June 5 – Official Launch

A full-day market experience celebrating Filipino culture, community and creativity, featuring local vendors (including Jollibee and Potato Corner) and a life-size Jeepney photo installation.

June 6 – Celebration Day

Hosted by Kayla-Marie Williams, Jesse Asido from Scarborough Spots & STC

A dynamic day of cultural programming with live performances, music and interactive experiences alongside the vendor market.
Time: 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM (Market break: 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM)

Live Celebration Event (2:00 to 3:00 PM):
Performances by Folklorico Filipino Canada, Angela Apigo and CDS Breaking Sports.

June 7 – Final Market Day

A community-focused day with continued market programming, family-friendly activities and the Jeepney photo installation.
