Despite what Critics have to say, Michael Jackson fans will have the final say with his Biopic MICHAEL debuting with a huge $97 million from 3,955 theatres. Worldwide it opens with $206 million, making it the biggest opening globally in 2026. Critics gave this Antoine Fuqua film a 38% on the Tomatometer. Our Review here.
Second is THE SUPER MARIO GALAXY MOVIE with $20.5 million in its fourth weekend, taking it to $385.7 million domestically for Universal Pictures.
In third we have PROJECT HAIL MARY with $12.1 million, a tally of $304 million grossed over six weekends for Amazon MGM Studios.
Fourth is Lee Cronin’s THE MUMMY with $5.5 million, a two-week run of $23.3 million for Warner Bros.
Rounding things out is THE DRAMA with $2.6 million, a total $44.7 million over four weekends for A24/VVS Films.
THE SUPER MARIO GALAXY MOVIE stays on-top a third straight week with $30 million. We don’t often see this anymore – incredible! This takes it to $350 million domestically for Universal Pictures.
In second is PROJECT HAIL MARY with a stellar $19.4 million in its fifth weekend for Amazon MGM Studios. This takes it to $284 million in North America.
Debuting in third is Lee Cronin‘s THE MUMMY with $13 million from 3,304 theatres. This gets 54% on the Tomatometer.
THE DRAMA is fourth with $4.7 million for A24/VVS Films, a total $37.7 million over three weekends. The Film was made for $28 million.
YOU, ME & TUSCANY rounds things out with $3.5 million, a total $14 million grossed up to its second weekend.
It’s all THE SUPER MARIO GALAXY MOVIE again this weekend, leading its second frame with $71 million for Universal Pictures. This takes it already to $310 million domestically in just two weekends.
Next up is PROJECT HAIL MARY with $25 million for Amazon MGM Studios, a tally of $257 million grossed over four weeks.
Third is THE DRAMA with $8.5 million for A24/VVS Films in its second weekend.
YOU, ME & TUSCANY debuts in fourth with $8.3 million from 3,151 theatres, for Universal Pictures. It gets 68% on the Tomatometer.
HOPPERS gets fifth for Disney, with $4 million, taking its domestic run to $157 million.
It’s a spectacular Easter opening THE SUPER MARIO GALAXY MOVIE, debuting with $129.3 million from 4,252 theatres for Universal Pictures. This is the biggest April Wedneaday opening of all time, with a first day of $34.5 million. Critics give this 41% on the Tomatometer. Its 2023.predecessor opened with $146 million. Review here.
Second is PROJECT HAIL MARY takes in amazing $33.2 million from 3,907 theatres Anazon MGM Studios. This takes it to $219 million domestically, over three weekends.
Third goes to THE DRAMA, with $13 million from 3,087 theatres for A24 and VVS Films. It gets 79% on the Tomatometer. Review here.
HOPPERS takes fourth with $6 million, a total $149 million over five weekends for Disney.
REMINDERS OF HIM rounds-out the Top Five with $2.3 million for Universal Pictures, a tally of $45 million.
PROJECT HAIL MARY remains on-top a second week with $53.1 million from 4,077 theatres for Amazon MGM Studios. It has grossed $162.9 million over two weekends.
HOPPERS is in second with $11.3 million, a total $137.6 million grossed over four weekends for Disney.
THEY WILL KILL YOU debuts in third with $5.5 million from 2,778 theatres for Warner Bros. It gets 66% on the Tomatometer.
In fourth is DHURANDHAR: THE REVENGE makes $4.6 million, a two week total of $22 million for Moviegoer.
REMINDERS OF HIM rounds things out with $4.5 million for Universal Pictures, a total $49 million grossed over three weekends.
It’s a huge opening for PROJECT HAIL MARY, taking $70 million from 4,007 theatres in its debut this weekend for Amazon MGM Studios. It improves upon original projections in the $50 million range. Critically, it gets an outstanding 95% on the Tomatometer. The Film was made for about $250 million. Review here.
Second is HOPPERS with a whopping $21 million, taking it to $123 million for Disney over three weekends.
DHURANDAR: THE REVENGE opens in third with $11 million. This is a sequel to the highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time. Moviegoers Entertainment release the Hindi title.
Fourth goes to Toronto-made READY OR NOT 2: HERE I COME with $10 million from 3,010 theatres for Searchlight Pictures. Its predecessor debuted with $8 million in 2019. It gets 75% on the Tomatometer.
REMINDERS OF HIM rounds things out with $8.7 million in its second week out for Universal Pictures, taking it to $33.8 million domestically.
Toronto, are you ready for Rocky’s Global Light Show?? You won’t want to miss it, this Thursday, March 19, 2026! This originally was scheduled for Tuesday but has been rescheduled due to weather.
This is a special experience tied to Project Hail Mary that will be happening in only three cities around the world: Taipei, Berlin, and right here in Toronto! While the shows in Taipei and Berlin will take place at 8:30 PM local time, Toronto’s light show will run in the 9:00–10:00 PM window. The show will be viewable to the public from the downtown waterfront, and we’re encouraging everyone to come out and watch!
This event will take place at East Toronto Harbour and will be visible to the public along the east side of the downtown waterfront, east of Yonge St.
