Disney‘s TRON: ARES zooms to the top of the Box Office with a stellar $38 million opening from 4,000 theatres. This falls just shy of 2010’s reboot TRON: LEGACY which bowed with $44 million. This latest edition in the Franchise gets 57% on the Tomatometer.
Second up is ROOFMAN with 3,362 theatres for Paramount Pictures. This latest from Derek Cianfrance, starring Channing Tatum is certified “fresh” on the Tomatometer with 84%.
ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER lands in third with $7 million from 3,127 theatres for Warner Bros., a tally of $55.3 million domestically to date.
Fourth is GABBY’S DOLLHOUSE: THE MOVIE with $4.2 million, a total $27.2 million for Universal Pictures.
Rounding things out in fifth is the faith film SOUL ON FIRE with $2.5 million for Sony.
TAYLOR SWIFT | THE OFFICIAL RELEASE PARTY OF A SHOWGIRL only is in theatres for three days October 3-5, but takes top spot in its debut for AMC/Cineplex Pictures, with $32 million from 3,702 theatres. By contrast, TAYLOR SWIFT: THE ERAS TOUR movie debuted in 2023 with $93 million.
Second is last week’s champ ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER with $12.3 million from 3,634 theatres for Warner Bros. This takes its tally over two weeks to $43.9 million domestically.
Debuting in third is Benny Safdie‘s THE SMASHING MACHINE with $6.2 million from 3,345 theatres for A24/VVS Films. The tiff50 selection gets 73% on the Tomatometer.
Fourth goes to GABBY’S DOLLHOUSE THE MOVIE with $4.7 million for Universal Pictures, a two week total of $21 million.
Rounding it out is THE CONJURING: LAST RITES with $4.2 million for Warner Bros., a run of $168 million over five weekends.
Paul Thomas Anderson‘s ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER debuts atop the Box Office with $22.4 million from 3,635 theatres for Warner Bros. What is looking like an early frontrunner for Best Picture, this gets a stellar 97% on the Tomatometer.
In second is GABBY’S DOLLHOUSE: THE MOVIE with $13.5 million from 3,500 theatres for Universal Pictures, coming in with a solid 79% on the Tomatometer.
Third is THE CONJURING: LAST RITES with $7.5 million in its fourth weekend, a tally of $161.7 million for Warner Bros.
DEMON SLAYER: INFINITY CASTLE is in fourth with $6.4 million for Sony Pictures, a total $117 million grossed domestically.
THE STRANGERS: CHAPTER 2 debuts with $5.2 million from 2,690 theatres for Cineplex Pictures and Lionsgate. 15% on the Tomatometer for this Horror sequel.

From Warner Bros. Pictures and Academy Award-nominated, BAFTA-winning filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson comes “One Battle After Another,” starring Academy Award and BAFTA winner Leonardo DiCaprio.
Oscar and BAFTA winners Sean Penn and Benicio del Toro also star alongside Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor and Chase Infiniti, as well as Wood Harris and Alana Haim.
Anderson directs from his own screenplay. The producers are Oscar and BAFTA nominees Adam Somner and Sara Murphy and Anderson, with Will Weiske executive producing.
