#FIRSTLOOK: NEW TRAILER FOR “MAFIA MAMMA”

MAFIA MAMMA follows an American woman (Toni Collette) who inherits her grandfather’s mafia empire in Italy. Guided by the firm’s trusted consigliere (Monica Bellucci), she hilariously defies everyone’s expectations, including her own, as the new head of the family business.

The cast also includes Giulio Corso (Signora Volpe), Francesco Mastroianni (Dead Uncle), Alfonso Perugini (New York), Sophia Nomvete (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power), Eduardo Scarpetta (The Ignorant Angels), Tim Daish (The Dirty Black Bag), and Tommy Rodger (The Cursed).

MAFIA MAMMA will be released in Canadian theatres on April 14, 2023 via levelFILM.

#TIFF18: “NEKROTRONIC” REVIEW

In the near future, the villainous Finnegan (Monica Bellucci) has found a way to unleash demonic spirits through an addictive app on people’s phones. She wants to eat all of their souls, and the internet is her most efficient option. With the fate of the world (or at least Australia) at risk, a group of Nekromancers must turn to unlikely sewage-waste worker turned hero Howard North (Ben O’Toole) to save the day.

Nekrotronic is campy and silly enough to earn its spot in this year’s Midnight Madness line-up, but it never seems sure of itself. It wants to be Sam Raimi’s version of Ghostbusters, but is unable to commit to the right balance of Comedy and Horror. Sure it has some laughs and plenty of gnarly violence, but it also has long spurts of wasted exposition, endless world building and Bellucci sucking the life out of everything around her, figuratively and literally. She’s better than this, and she makes certain that you remember it.

While we’re waiting eagerly on BOND 24, better known as SPECTRE, Sony Pictures have been dropping some teases along the way to make the wait more bearable. Released today was this brand new Poster from the Film! Is there anyone more stylish and handsome than Daniel Craig?!?

#FIRSTLOOK: DANIEL CRAIG + MONICA BELLUCCI AT ROME PHOTO CALL FOR “SPECTRE”

Is there anything more elegant than this?  Photos from the Rome SPECTRE Photo Call have just surfaced from earlier today with Monica Bellucci and Daniel Craig.  You won’t be able to keep your eyes off a stunning Bellucci – known now as the eldest Bond Girl in the history of the Films at age 50 – ridiculously beautiful in red.

Synopsis:

A cryptic message from Bond‘s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organization. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE.

Still waiting on that first Still of Christoph Waltz…
