Meet Magnus Ferrell. This brilliant 22-year-old Singer-Songwriter just released his sublime debut EP, “Groove Therapy“. While his initial intentions were to pursue acting, while simultaneously refining himself as a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, ultimately it was over the Pandemic that he decided the path he was meant to be on, and we are thankful for it.
Ferrell‘s sound is a specific silky smooth SoCal-blend of R&B and Soul that is both infectious and incredibly “Muso“, just like its deep influences.
We were so fortunate to sit down to chat with him as he was in Toronto recently supporting the Jonas Brothers on their Burning Up Tour All Over Again, where he brought the crowd to their feet, phones lit-up, and wrapping around the corner at Scotiabank Arena following his performance where his new fans got a chance to meet him.
We chat with Ferrell about his more apparent influences like D’Angelo and Michael Jackson, but he also admits to having a deep appreciation for the way Billie Eilish uses her voice. Being an Artist who could play a small intimate jazz club – and he has at the highest level, performing at the Blue Note in both Los Angeles and New York – and also a big arena, we also ask Ferrell what his vision is for himself.
And right away, we address the very thing that is on everyone’s mind when one benefits from privilege.
Magnus Ferrell is an incredible emerging talent. Get to know him.

Believe it or not, this was my first time seeing Jonas Brothers live, on their Burning Up Tour All Over Again, delivering both newer hits and their classics – with an intermission even. This revival of their Burning Up Tour, which ran between 2008 and 2009 landed in Toronto two separate nights – September 28th at RBC Amphitheatre and October 24th at Scotiabank Arena.
I was thoroughly amaze not only by their showmanship, but also their incredible musicianship, working the crowd, many who wore red to partake in the theme.
Not only this, the Jonas Brothers also were supported by some fantastic supporting acts: Baylee Littrell (son of Backstreet Boys legend Brian Littrell) and Magnus Ferrell (son of icon Will Ferrell), the latter whom we had an amazing chat with here.
Some highlights from the night:
