Not sure it was quite a musical match made-in-heaven, but Madonna and Miley Cyrus‘ much-talked-about Collaboration on the latter’s MTV Unplugged Taping quickly has surfaced! Gyrating, butt-patting, Cowboy Hats and Boots! This Performance is everything.
Madonna surprised Miley Fans in Los Angeles the other night joining the Pop Star for a custom-concocted Mash-Up their Hits respectively, Don’t Tell Me and We Can’t Stop. Thematically it works we suppose, with the former sporting a Country Vibe and Miley proudly displaying her Country Roots. But sonically? You be the Judges!

The 56th annual GRAMMY Awards took place tonight at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles – Music’s Biggest Night! The Stars came out in droves and in what was an odd, exciting Red Carpet, we saw an assortment of Helmets and Hats donned on some of the biggest names in Music including the likes of Madonna, Daft Punk, Yoko Ono and Pharrell, who lit Twitter afire with his exaggerated RCMP-like Hat. The Fashion Entrepreneur, Producer and Singer/Songwriter not only won in the Category of Best Producer (Non-Classical), but won coveted Record of the Year and also Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with his Daft Punk Collaboration, Get Lucky.
French Electronica Duo Daft Punk made only their second-ever televised Performance tonight – a momentous Occasion with Stevie Wonder joining them and Pharrell. What made the Night extra-special however was their huge Wins for coveted Top Honour of Album of the Year, Best Electronic/Dance Album and Best Engineered Album with their 2013 Disc, Random Access Memories. In total, they won five GRAMMYs night individually and in collaboration.
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis who debuted only last year, too were the Kings of the GRAMMYs this year, sweeping the most important Rap/Hip-Hop Categories including Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song (Thrift Shop), Best Rap Performance (Thrift Shop) and Best New Artist. In addition, the Duo stole the Show tonight partnering-up with Queen Latifah and Pop Legend Madonna for a much-talked-about Performance of Same Love, which saw 33 Couples of all Orientations being wed at the Event as Queen Latifah officiated the Ceremony. Madonna then joined on-stage in a white Suit and Cowboy Hat singing the Hook to her Hit Open Your Heart.
Watch the Performance below:
Although surprisingly she wasn’t nominated for Best New Artist, shy 17-year-old New Zealand Sensation Lorde more than made-up for that with a huge win for Best Solo Pop Performance with her Hit Royals. The Track also won coveted Song of the Year and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a huge sales boost next week for her 2013 Debut, Pure Heroine. In a succinct pair of Speeches where she seemed genuinely shocked to win, she thanked her fellow Nominees Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Sara Bareilles and Justin Timberlake for being inspirations in her own Music. She also accepted with her Co-Writer/Producer Joel Little, letting him do most of the talking.
Katy Perry turned several heads tonight in her Valentino Dress which was adorned with Musical Notes, in addition leaving an impression with her eerie and theatrical Performance of latest Single, Dark Horse.
Taylor Swift undisputedly had the best Red Carpet Look tonight, wearing well an elegant chain-linked Gucci Dress. She performed her Track All Too Well, complete with head-thrashing, finished with a mood-appropriate pensive smirk versus her usual enthusiastic show of gratitude post-Performance. Although she wasn’t a Winner tonight, she was up in for prestigious Album of the Year with her Disc Red, released in October 2012.
Watch Swift perform All Too Well:
Canada also fared well this year at the GRAMMYs, with our own Michael Buble nabbing his fourth GRAMMY with his Disc To Be Loved in the Category of Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. Jennifer Gasoi won Best Children‘s Album with her Throw a Penny in the Wishing Well.

Despite filling hosting duties on Saturday Night Live last night, former Alumni Jimmy Fallon may have gotten help from a few Friends – but it is those few Buddies who helped deliver huge laughs on a memorable Christmas episode of Comedy-Sketch Series, now in its 39th Season!
In addition to Madonna, Sir Paul McCartney, Barry Gibb and Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Fallon got a major boost from his Pal and Musical Guest and multi-time Host, Justin Timberlake!
Sir Paul McCartney would kick-off the star-studded Affair in the Evening’s Opening Monologue which would have Fallon doing his best impressions of David Bowie, Bob Dylan and Sir Paul McCartney, only for the latter to appear suddenly on-stage!
See Fallon and McCartney perform Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas:
Timberlake brought back his popular Musical Liquorville Sketch, this time in Holiday Spirit and with the help of Fallon, competing with a Charity Gift Wrapper in Cast Member Aidy Bryant. Bring it on down to Wrappinville! Adorbs!
See The Wrap-Off below!
Madonna and the real Gibb himself on The Barry Gibb Show!
Perhaps one of the Highlights of the Evening was the Musical Sketch Let’s Do It in my Twin Bed featuring Fallon and the Ladies of SNL, a bit of an Homage to The Pussycat Dolls with Sisters singing about a little wild surprise for their Boyfriends, “getting wild in a bed for a child!” at their Mom and Dad’s!
Watch Let’s Do It in my Twin Bed below:
One thing that never ceases to make me laugh are imaginary Music Compilation Sketches and here is SNL‘s take on NOW That’s What I Call Christmas featuring impressions of Alanis Morissette, Andrea Bocelli and Alan Rickman:
My favourite Sketch though was the super-sweet Baby, It’s Cold Outside Sketch with Weekend Update‘s Cecily Strong, with her as the clingy One-Night-Stand who manages to win Fallon over amidst a Blizzard in NYC:

The 2013 Billboard Music Awards were held in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand tonight and winning top honours tonight was Taylor Swift with a total eight awards including Top Artist and Billboard Hot 200 Album with her Disc, Red. Poking fun at herself, Swift accepted her Award, stating, “you’re the longest and best relationship I’ve ever had!”.
Not to be outshone, Rihanna and Gotye both picked-up four awards each – the former doing extremely well in the R&B Categories winning Top Album, Song and Artist, while also nabbing Top Radio Songs Artist. Gotye was victorious in the categories: Hot 100 Song, Rock Song, Radio Song and Streaming Song (Audio) based on the strength of his Smash with Kimbra, Somebody That I Used To Know.
Two Pop Legends were honoured also in Prince and Madonna. The former not only performing tonight a Medley which included Let’s Go Crazy, received the Icon Award for his lasting career which has seen ten Diamond Albums and 30 Top 40 Hits. The latter, whom we spotted in New York City last week at the Met Gala, won Top Touring Artist for her MDNA Tour.
Canada’s Carly Rae Jepsen even was recognized with the Award for Top Digital Song with Call Me Maybe.
Although the evening was highlighted by some dazzling performances from the likes of Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Pitbull, it was Miguel who stirred-up the most controversy apparently kicking two female Fans when crowdsurfing into the audience during his performance of Adorn.

Such a complete delight partaking in the festivities of the 2013 Costume Institute Gala (Met Gala) this year in New York City. The Gala celebrates the Metropolitan Museum‘s annual opening of the Fashion Exhibit at the Costume Institute, bringing together the Worlds of Film, Music and Fashion. Although it’s 6:00 AM and I have yet to sleep a wink, I’ve had a blast chasing the Stars and enjoying the Fashions, celebrating the theme of Punk! Although some were faithful to it, there were also several diversions, resulting in a large variety to the eye.
Yes, it was surreal being an arm’s length from Madonna who looked fun and edgy in her Cleopatra Hair and seeing Natalie Portman clash at once with her on the Red Carpet with her, only for her to acquiesce and let the reigning Queen of Pop shine in her metallic Givenchy Haute Couture Dress. I am still in awe of Beyoncé‘s marvelous Givenchy Gown, which drew the most applause from Onlookers who lined the streets for a glimpse outside the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA). Or how about getting an air kiss from this year’s Host Rooney Mara after telling her how much I admire her work? And I cannot deny how surreal it was seeing Sofia Coppola walk arm-in-arm with Marc Jacobs – two of my favourite People! Or how about witnessing a warm embrace between Girls Star/Writer/Producer Lena Dunham and equally brilliant Mindy Kaling? And did I mention I accidentally stepped-on Jessica Alba‘s dress?
The Parties continued well into the morning, with the main event taking place at The Standard Hotel, where the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Rita Ora, Cara Delevingne, Madonna, Katy Perry, Carey Mulligan and a newly-blonde Anne Hathaway, stirred-up some madness. Lawrence in particular raised a frenzy among Fans and Paparazzi alike, zipping along with tactical speed into her SUV.
See a Montage below of Clips I took from the Evening. You won’t believe how crazy things got for Jennifer Lawrence!

Always on the pulse, H&M released some new images today from their upcoming Campaigns featuring super-hot Georgia May Jagger and David Beckham for his collaborative Line, David Beckham Bodywear at H&M.
Beckham recently filmed what is being touted a humorous Campaign with none other than Director former Beau of Madonna, Guy Ritchie (Snatch, Sherlock Holmes), which sees him running through the streets and gardens of Beverly Hills in his Underwear. On working with the Multimedia Empire himself, Ritchie says “For me this felt more than a Campaign – it was like directing a Short Film”. Beckham‘s latest Bodywear Collection for H&M adds red and blue trims to its current gray, white and black Roster of colours. The Campaign debuts worldwide on February 7, 2013.
Also, Jagger (Daughter of Mick and Jerry Hall) in addition to gaining much attention through her Campaign for Rimmel London and ironically Madonna & Daughter Lourdes’ Material Girl Collection, is set to explode as she models H&M’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Mansion Collection, which debuts in February. She says, “Music creates a certain mood and then people dress accordingly. I think it’s all quite closely intertwined.”. The soon-to-be 21-year-old Beauty may love Modelling, but also expresses an interest to dabble in Photography.
