Nothing is working out for Scientist Cameron Edwin (Jim Gaffigan). His wife has filed for divorce and heâs just been fired from his own television program. When a satellite falls from orbit and crashes into his dysfunctional family home, Cameron seizes the opportunity to fulfil his dream of becoming an astronaut by re-building it into a rocket ship. His wife and daughter believe he’s experiencing a Midlife Crisis, however, when surreal events begin happening around him, a mystery unfolds.
This unique Dramedy relates to the dreamer and romantic within us. Writer-Director Colin West creates a strange world for his characters to exist. However, this odd world is essential to the storyline. It toys with the audience’s concept of time and questions the relationships between characters. Through this one family, West has created a touching story about the relationship between love and memory.
These themes are perfectly captured through the talented Cast. While known for his Comedy, Gaffigan is refreshing in this rare dramatic role that he excels in. He makes an impact as a man stuck and yearning to rebuild his life and dreams. In some scenes, Cameron is shown doing educational science videos similar to those found in schools. Here, Gaffigan allows some of his comedic talents to shine through and gives off Bill Nye vibes.
Gaffiganâs chemistry with Rhea Seehorn, who plays his wife Erin, is strong. Resulting in moving, scenes shared between the two. Erin has a wide character-arch allowing Seehorn to show her range. Rounding off the Cast is Katelyn Nacon, who plays the coupleâs daughter Nora, and Gabriel Rush, who plays her schoolmate Marc. The sweet relationship that blossoms between the two are a highlight.
The mystery infused in this peculiar world keeps the audience invested, even if it could benefit from a tighter runtime. However, even with Linoleum dragging in parts, it makes up for it with a heartfelt reveal that makes an emotional impact.

The third Laughter is the Best Medicine Gala, presented by BMO, was held last night at the Canadian National Exhibition‘s Automotive Building, the previous bash held September 2014.  Sure to be a star-studded affair with blockbuster names like Jerry Seinfeld (2012) and Chris Rock (2014) having graced the stage in previous years, comedic icons Jim Gaffigan and Kevin Nealon (Saturday Night Live) headlined this edition of the black-tie affair.
Over 1,200 guests, who dined on culinary delights by restaurant mogul Susur Lee, filled the venue with proceeds of the Gala supporting the Michael Garron Hospital, known formerly as the Toronto East General Hospital. The Hospital received an historic gift of $50 million by Berna and Myron Garron in honour of their late son Michael.
In addition to the headliners in attendance, the likes of Ben & Jessica Mulroney, Sylvia & Robert Mantella, Connie & Bill Stavro, Gala Co-Chair and Invictus Games CEO Michael Burns, plus Mayor John Tory graced the red carpet.
Will Arnett hails from Toronto and still is at the top of his game with a leading role in this year’s Box Office smash The Lego Batman Movie and was named the Hospital’s first ever Honourary Doctor. Once again he filled hosting duties as Master of Ceremonies at the Gala. His father Jim, who also attended on a timely note with his mother Alix this Mother’s Day weekend, served on the Board for the Toronto East General Hospital between 2002 to 2009, serving as Chairman between 2006 to 2008.
Our Justin Waldman had the pleasure of chatting with Arnett on the Carpet and tells us about how he came to be involved with the affair. “Five years ago, they asked me to be a part of it. My dad worked with them so I was familiar with the hospital and they do such great things.”.  “It started kinda small and has managed to expand over the years into the Michael Garron Hospital.”. “I’m really excited to be a part of this.”.
Among the super-rare items and experiences up for auction were a chance to have an intimate dinner with Arnett himself, the lucky bidders topping all with a $25k winning bid. Trips to anywhere on the Air Canada network with luxurious accommodations in the south of France also were up for grabs, a top bid rising eventually to $30k.

So you might’ve heard I was in New York City this past week enjoying the Met Gala (see the Photos!) and it was an amazing thrill seeing the Fashions and the Celebrity in-person after admiring them online for many years now. Red Carpets and flashing Cameras are something I vow to never get sick of!  Promise. Hoping to visit again next Spring!
Although I did get to meet Met Gala Host Rooney Mara in-person and she was lovely to stop and say “hi” and blow me a kiss, unfortunately she didn’t do the Photo but I still will have the memory! One day I’ll have my Gwen Stefani and Anne Hathaway moment! I did get Photos with Jennifer Morrison (Once Upon a Time) and Tommy Hilfigger but unfortunately they just didn’t turn out:(
Fortunately, most of the Celebrities I met were more than obliging and here are some of the Stars I got to get Snap with below. And yes, that is KYLIE MINOGUE!!!! She is just as lovely as I’d dreamed! Ditto for Kelly Ripa!! Armie Hammer too!! And I don’t believe Zooey Deschanel said “yes”! She never does!!
See it all:
