With over 20 million twinkling LEDs, illumi – A Dazzling World of Lights (7174 Derrycrest Drive, Mississauga) is the hub for holiday magic with your loved ones this season. And you can even bring your pets too!
There’s a bright side to the darkness falling sooner due to daylight savings: illumi opens an hour earlier and shines its 20 million lights to brighten up the gloomier months.
Families, couples and friends of all ages are sure to bundle up and come to illumi for a massive dose of holiday cheer. Guests will embark on an adventure through a 600,000 square foot site loaded with thousands of light structures and some classic holiday tunes that are sure to give guests that warm fuzzy feeling that is so synonymous with the holidays.
Guests can grab a delicious cup of hot chocolate at one of illumi’s food counters and take it on their magical journey. Upon entering the site they’ll immediately walk into the thematic universe where they’ll wander amongst snowmen, candy canes, reindeer, and giant snowflakes, all before even stepping under the ILLUMI TREE OF LIGHTS.
GTA residents can be as proud as New Yorkers visiting the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, now that the tallest tree of light in the world has found a home in Mississauga. Standing at 47m, almost twice the size of the Rockefeller tree, the ILLUMI TREE OF LIGHTS is a must-see for the holidays and a perfect backdrop to refresh your holiday family portrait.
Amongs the 14 universes that illumi has to offer is THE LAND OF FROST. In this winter world visitors will step through thousands of dangling lights that look like gently falling snow and straight into one of their favourite Christmas storybooks.
Visitors will see it’s lit with glowing snowflakes and shining stars. On the ground, gigantic glowing crystals form an icy world, a sparkling ice block castle takes adults back to their childhood heart and creates memories lasting a lifetime for kids.
Another can’t miss scene for the holiday season is THE INFINITE POLES. In this icy world where borders blur guests can duck into twinkling igloos of many sizes, come face to face with hundreds of playful penguins and stand in awe of glowing polar bears, whales, and moose that all coexist in an endless forest of stalagmites.
Visitors will also be able to stop inside one of the warm-up areas to take a moment to soak in the beauty of the scene before continuing the dazzling journey.
illumi will fill your heart with light and happiness in this somewhat gray and cold season, it’s guaranteed!

A couple weeks after the Ontario opening of illumi – A Dazzling World of Lights by Cavalia, creator Normand Latourelle and his team are adding even more opportunities for visitors to be completely immersed in the fall season.
SPOOKY AT ILLUMI offers people of all ages a new tradition that’ll be just as instinctive as picking up a pumpkin spice latte. Visitors will get the opportunity to immerse themselves in classic autumn and Halloween scenes backed by soundtracks taken from iconic horror films that will undoubtedly give them goosebumps.
As soon as guests enter the gate of illumi, they will enter the first thematic universe where more than 3,000 jack-o-lanterns of all shapes and sizes smile back at visitors as they take in the fresh fall air and the spooky sights.
Young and old can wander through a mesmerizing pumpkin patch filled with thousands of jack-o-lanterns and hundreds playful neon skeletons. Catch the glow of a larger-than-life skull, but don’t get too close or you might become one of its victims.
Ghouls, witches, monsters, and ghosts also occupy several universes in the Dazzling World of Lights to make this Halloween season a real feast for the eyes and ears.
For instance, the The Crazy Boulevard is lined with pumpkins, the hundreds of Scarlet Spiders have started spinning their eerily large cobwebs and hauntingly familiar themes drift on the whistling wind. All signs point to Spooky At illumi!
It wouldn’t be Spooky at illumi without a couple tricks of the light. You’ll see how black light and strobe lights combine with existing universes to create a unique experience. And you won’t believe what the spirits have done — taking over the largest tree of light in the world. And they’ve taken over the music too, including iconic Halloween soundtracks.
In November the chilling spirit of Halloween will be gone, and the cheery spirit of the holidays will take over.
