#FIRSTLOOK: “HOLMES ON HOMES: BUILDING A LEGACY” SEASON 2 PREMIERE DATE

From intensifying flash floods to rising economic pressures forcing multiple generations under one roof, Canadian homeowners face critical challenges that go well beyond cosmetic fixes. Premiering Tuesday, November 10, 2026 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on Cottage Life, Season 2 of the hit original series Holmes on Homes: Building a Legacy sees construction pioneer Mike Holmes, alongside his son Michael Holmes Jr. and daughter Sherry Holmes, tackle a wide range of these challenges.

With the knowledge he’s gained in his four decades in the trades, Mike Holmes has helped hundreds of families across North America—and now, he plans to pass the torch to his children to carry on his legacy in the family construction business. While working side-by-side with his kids on life-changing renovations, Mike also steps back at key moments in Season 2 to give Michael Jr. and Sherry room to run the job site and put the core values he instilled in them to work. Behind the builds, cameras capture the next generation leading the charge alongside heartfelt, behind-the-scenes moments with Mike, his children, and his grandchildren.

“Construction has always been my passion, and getting to share that with my kids is something special,” says Mike Holmes. “For me, it’s about more than building or renovating a house. It’s about doing things right, passing on what I’ve learned over the years, and making sure the next generation understands the importance of quality work. Being able to do that alongside Michael and Sherry while helping other families is what building a legacy is all about.”

“I’ve been working alongside my dad for 20 years, so the values he’s taught us are pretty much second nature at this point,” says Michael Holmes Jr. “In Season 2, you’ll see Sherry and me taking the lead on site while Dad steps back. We’ve learned a lot from him over the years, and now it’s about putting that experience to work, making the right calls and showing him we can handle it.”

Holmes on Homes: Building a Legacy is a reboot of the iconic Holmes on Homes series. Season 2 features eight episodes airing in two installments: four episodes premiering this fall, followed by the remaining four in 2027. The series is produced by The Holmes Group.
