This summer, Global’s primetime schedule kicks off with Big Brother on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at 8 p.m. ET with a special 90-minute premiere. At the helm of the action once again is host Julie Chen-Moonves, back for Season 28 of the reality competition series. In addition to the show’s upcoming historic 1000th episode, this season also sees the return of Big Brother: Unlocked starting Friday, July 10 at 8 p.m. ET featuring a live studio audience for the first time, plus exclusive footage from inside the house, extended interviews, surprise guest appearances and behind-the-scenes access. After its premiere, Big Brother will air Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET, Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET featuring live evictions, then Sundays at 8 p.m. ET all summer on Global and STACKTV.
Then, launching on Global Thursday, July 16 at 9 p.m. ET is Nation’s Dumbest, a new celebrity competition series that flips the traditional format on its head — because this is the only show where winning is the last thing anyone wants. Taking attendance as host is acclaimed comedian Jack Whitehall, who presides over the chaos as contestants relive the highs and humiliations of school life — from pop quizzes and report cards to recess and parent teacher conferences — all while trying to stay out of last place. Enrolled in this season’s all-star class are television personality Hilaria Baldwin, actress and model Carmen Electra, actor Anthony Michael Hall, actor Jon Heder, musician and actor Chase Hudson, rapper and actor Ice-T, singer-songwriter Elle King, former NFL quarterback Matt Leinart, television personality and physician Dr. Drew Pinsky, stunt performer and comedian Steve-O, singer and performer JoJo Siwa, and entrepreneur and former presidential candidate Andrew Yang.
This summer Global is also now home to Kitchen Nightmares, with Season 10 premiering Tuesday, July 21 at 8 p.m. ET with a two-hour episode. The new season finds celebrity chef and restaurateur Gordon Ramsay revamping struggling restaurants in the U.S.’s Midwest. He tries to reason with restaurant owners who are stuck in their ways while helping them navigate challenges like health code violations and staffing issues.
Lastly, this August, nail biter game show The Wall returns to Global with new episodes. Hosted by Chris Hardwick, viewers will meet inspiring contestants and give them the chance to win millions in the blink of an eye — and watch it slip through their fingers if they answer a question incorrectly and see that dreaded red ball take a tumble down the game’s namesake wall.
Global’s summer lineup and more hit series can be streamed via STACKTV, available on Amazon Prime Video, Bell Fibe TV app, Rogers Ignite TV and Ignite Streaming. Global is also available through all major TV distributors, including: Shaw, Shaw Direct, Rogers, Bell, Videotron, Telus, Cogeco, Eastlink and SaskTel.
Today, Global announced its 2026/27 broadcast season slate featuring four new U.S. acquisitions and the launch of two new Canadian productions. These new programs join Global’s hit lineup, which holds 13 of the top 20 most-watched series this spring*. Global’s fall 2026 schedule will deliver 16.5 hours of premium simulcast programming and is available to stream on STACKTV and the Global TV App.
The new scripted programming acquisitions on Global kick off with NCIS: New York, which sees LL COOL J reprising his role as Special Agent Sam Hanna and also stars Scott Caan ( Hawaii Five-O). This latest NCIS universe expansion follows Hanna (LL COOL J) as he returns to his hometown, New York City, and partners with a roguish special agent (Caan).
Then, from Emmy® Award-nominated executive producers Robert and Michelle King and starring Mike Colter comes Cupertino. The show follows a wronged lawyer (Colter) as he partners with a promising young attorney (Rachel Keller) to stand up against the giants of Silicon Valley in a David vs. Goliath battle. Ella Stiller, Busy Phillips, Nik Dodani and Renee Elise Goldsberry also star recurring alongside many more guest stars still to be announced.
Next up is new comedy Eternally Yours, from the executive producers of hit Global comedy Ghosts. This eternal love story is about two vampires, played by Ed Weeks and Allegra Edwards, who have been married for 500 years, living in present day Seattle with their oddball coven as they struggle to accept the human who is dating their daughter.
Lastly for U.S. acquisitions on Global this season, Einstein, a new light-hearted drama starring Matthew Gray Gubler and Melissa Fumero, joins the roster mid-season. In Einstein, Gubler stars as the brilliant but directionless great-grandson of Albert Einstein, who is forced to put his reckless antics behind him, utilizing his genius to help solve crimes with a local police detective (Fumero).
This fall also welcomes the premiere of the previously announced Global Original Private Eyes West Coast from Lionsgate Canada and Piller/Segan. Starring Jason Priestley and Cindy Sampson reprising their roles as Matt Shade and Angie Everett, the duo has traded Toronto for the West Coast, embracing a fresh start both personally and professionally. As they settle into life in Victoria and launch a brand-new P.I. firm, Shade and Angie navigate the growing pains of starting over in an unfamiliar city: balancing high-stakes cases, evolving relationships, and the challenge of building a new community from the ground up. Without their trusted Toronto network to lean on, the pair must rely on each other more than ever as they tackle a slate of adrenaline-fueled investigations. From tracking down a missing student deep in the B.C. wilderness to extracting a murder confession from a surfer in Tofino, Shade and Angie quickly discover that life on the West Coast comes with even bigger risks, higher stakes, and plenty of unexpected twists.
Alongside these highly-anticipated new shows are Global’s returning fall hits including the #1 reality series Survivor, #1 drama 9-1-1 and #1 new spring show CIA. In addition, top 20-ranked series FBI, NCIS, NCIS: Origins, Sheriff Country and Elsbeth all return as well as award-winning Abbott Elementary, plus heart-pounding Fire Country, and investigative, unscripted programming including Harlan Coben’s Final Twist, 60 Minutes and Canadian original Crime Beat. Fan-favourite series on Global continue mid-season with the return of #1 comedy Ghosts, top 20-ranked Matlock and NCIS: Sydney* as well as Canadian Screen Award-nominated Murder in a Small Town.
Corus also has plenty more to celebrate within its award-winning Global News portfolio, as the home to the #1 morning newscast, #1 noon newscast, and #1 national newscast. Ahead of the #CorusUpfront this afternoon, Global reveals its 2023/24 broadcast season slate featuring the most buzzworthy and talked about new series as well as the return of the network’s blockbuster hits. Delivering a solid 17 hours of simulcast programming in primetime, Global’s 2023/24 roster continues to bring audiences fresh, premium content across network TV and streaming on STACKTV and the Global TV App.
Leading this year’s TV offering is the brand new procedural drama Matlock with Oscar®-winner and screen legend Kathy Bates in the titular role. Next up is humorous new drama Elsbeth, starring Carrie Preston, based on and named after the fan favourite character from The Good Wife and The Good Fight. Also coming to Global in the coming year is new medical drama Doc, based on a massively successful Italian format and one of the most buzzed about series this broadcast season, and the hysterical comedy Poppa’s House starring Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr.
Global’s fall schedule wouldn’t be complete without the return of #1 reality series Survivor back for an unprecedented 45th season where fans can look forward to action-packed 90-minute episodes each week. Then, the highly-anticipated contemporary re-imagining of the Robin Hood legend, Robyn Hood, joins the Global lineup this fall. From acclaimed Canadian music video director and filmmaker Director X, the eight-episode, one-hour series stars Jessye Romeo, Nykeem Provo, Idrissa Sanogo, Daniela Kharlamova, Jonathan Langdon, Sydney Kuhne, Ian Matthews, Kira Guloien, Manuel Rodriguez-Saenz, and Lisa Michelle Cornelius.
Global’s 2023/24 season also welcomes back a strong returning slate, including last fall’s #1 new series So Help Me Todd and the high-octane drama Fire Country. Award-winning comedy and critical darling Abbott Elementary also returns along with #1 comedy Ghosts. Global’s schedule is rounded out with blockbuster franchises FBI and NCIS. In an exciting plot twist, LL COOL J moves from Los Angeles to the Aloha State in the upcoming season of NCIS: Hawai’i as a recurring guest star.
“Global’s fall schedule is full of fresh premium content and top performing reality series, delivering audiences a strong schedule supported by TV’s biggest hits,” said Troy Reeb, Executive Vice President, Broadcast Networks, Corus Entertainment. “By maximizing simulcast hours, and continuing to engage Canadians with a wide range of genres – from laugh-out-loud comedies, edge of your seat procedurals, and appointment-viewing reality – Global is poised to build on last fall’s string of top-rated series across primetime.”
NEW PRIMETIME SERIES FOR 2023/24
SCRIPTED
Global’s first new pick-up is Matlock starring Emmy and Academy Award winner Kathy Bates as Madeline “Matty” Matlock, a brilliant septuagenarian who achieved success in her younger years and decides to rejoin the workforce at a prestigious law firm where she uses her unassuming demeanour and wily tactics to win cases. Matty is assigned to Olympia (Skye P. Marshall), a senior attorney and key rainmaker with a thirst for justice. Olympia’s ex-husband, Julian (Jason Ritter), the son of the head of the firm, is intrigued by Matty and her clever skills. As Matty endeavours to establish herself in her new high-stakes world, she works alongside the firm’s younger associates – the charismatic Billy (David Del Rio) and the uber ambitious Sarah (Leah Lewis).
Next comes Elsbeth, starring Carrie Preston as Elsbeth Tascioni, an astute but unconventional attorney who utilizes her singular point of view to make unique observations and corner brilliant criminals alongside the NYPD. After leaving her successful legal career in Chicago to tackle a new investigative role in New York City, Elsbeth finds herself jockeying with the toast of the NYPD, Captain C.W. Wagner (Wendell Pierce). Working alongside Elsbeth is Officer Kaya Blanke (Carra Patterson), a stoic and ethical officer who quickly develops an appreciation for Elsbeth’s insightful and offbeat ways. Elsbeth is based on the character featured in The Good Wife and The Good Fight.
Then, Doc follows hard-charging Chief of Internal & Family Medicine Dr. Amy Elias after she suffers a brain injury during a car accident and loses her memory of the last eight years. Forced to re-acclimate to the present—with no recollection of a tragedy in her personal life and bereft of the medical knowledge she’s accrued over this time she must return to being an intern and somehow rebuild her life from the fractured pieces which remain. Based on the globally acclaimed Italian television series, Doc – Nelle tue mani, created by Lux Vide, a Freemantle company.
Big laughs are also on the Global schedule with Poppa’s House, starring Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr. Wayans stars as legendary radio host and happily divorced “Poppa” who has his point of view challenged at work when a new female co-host (Essence Atkins) is hired, and at home where he finds himself still parenting his adult son (Damon Wayans Jr.), a brilliant dreamer who is trying to pursue his passion while being a responsible father and husband.
Next, coming this fall, new Global original Robyn Hood follows Robyn Loxley, a young woman whose masked hip-hop band, The Hood, is known for their inventive videos and anti-authoritarian message. She lives in Sherwood Towers, a community of rental high-rises in a working-class corner of New Nottingham, where the cost of living has skyrocketed, leaving an ever-widening gap between the rich and everyone else. When Robyn finds herself fighting for her home and her family against local property developer John Prince and The Sheriff of New Nottingham, Robyn and her band The Hood decide to fight back, righting the wrongs of the corrupt elite to give back to the people.

There aren’t many awards which Canadian-born Actress Anna Paquin hasn’t earned. The Winnipeg-born star has the distinction of being the second-youngest actress ever to win an Oscar for her work in Jane Campion‘s 1993 Film The Piano, and also a Golden Globe Award win too for her popular role in acclaimed HBO Series True Blood as Sookie Stackhouse. In addition to recent work starring in CBC series Alias Grace and Bellevue, the latter which brought her to Toronto earlier this year, Paquin has a high-profile recurring role as Rogue on the X-Men Franchise.
Despite being based in America, Paquin gets a heroine’s welcome home being honoured with a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame. She sees herself honoured alongside national treasures like two-time Olympic Champion Donovan Bailey and Scientist/Activist David Suzuki. Receiving inductions post-humously are Humanitarian Viola Desmond (seen on our most recent $10 note), Telecommunications Pioneer Ted Rogers, and Musician Stompin’ Tom Connors (Cineplex Legends Inductee). JUNO Winner Shawn Hook received this year’s Allan Slaight Honour.
Paquin arrived at the 19th edition of the ceremony glamorous in shimmering flower adornments and black (dress by Pamella Roland), husband Stephen Moyer opening the door for her as she exited her SUV like the perfect gentleman he is. She now can count herself among the 173 notables honoured with stars along the walkways of Toronto’s Entertainment District. Singer/Songwriter Jann Arden filled Gala hosting duties.
Paquin and Moyer (born Emery) both recently collaborated together on upcoming Film The Parting Glass, filmed here in Toronto. Moyer directs, with their True Blood Co-Star Denis O’Hare penning the Script.
Beyond Famous: Canada’s Walk of Fame, an hour-long Documentary hosted by past Inductee Eric McCormack, airs on Global Television Sunday, December 3, 2017 at 8 PM ET.
