#REVIEW: “INSIDE OUT 2”
Review by Amanda Gilmore for Mr. Will Wong
Pixar’s Inside Out 2 is the most fun we’ve had with anxiety.
This enchanting Sequel to the beloved original, once again follows Riley (Kensington Tallman) and the emotions in her head. Now in her teens, Riley is adjusting to moving from Minnesota to San Francisco and the changes keep coming. #REVIEW: “TUESDAY”
Review by Justin Waldman for Mr. Will Wong
If you told me a feature debut starring Julia-Louis Dreyfus would be one of my favourite movies of the year, I would never have believed it! TUESDAY still hasn’t left my brain weeks after seeing it. Director Dania Oniunas-Pusic manages to pull off with their heartbreaking beautiful Fantasy-Horror film, which makes the audience look at grief in a completely new way and will destroy them in more ways than one.
The Movie focues on Tuesday (Lola ...

#REVIEW: “THE WATCHERS”
Review by David Baldwin for Mr. Will Wong
Mina (Dakota Fanning) is an American lost in an uncharted forest in Western Ireland. Her car has disappeared and night is coming. Mina finds her way to a concrete shelter housing three other strangers, all terrified of creatures who are lurking in the woods around them. She quickly discovers that these creatures like to watch and study them through a two-way mirror, and is not so keen on following any of the rules they want her to abide by.
That is ...

#REVIEW: “BAD BOYS: RIDE OR DIE”
Review by Justin Waldman for Mr. Will Wong
When they announced they were making a Bad Boys movie without Michael Bay, my interest immediately plummeted. Then I went to go see Bad Boys For Life and was completely shocked at how much I enjoyed it more than the second movie, and how much it works without Michael Bay. Despite my thoughts that Bad Boys For Life was a perfect ending for the Franchise, Bad Boys: Ride or Die surprisingly delivers another fun mission for Marcus and Mike, however it ...

#REVIEW: “BABES”
Review by Justin Waldman for Mr. Will Wong
First-time feature Director, Pamela Adlon (Californication, King of the Hill) has managed to craft one of the most outrageous, inconceivable (pardon the pun) and hilarious movies about the topic of pregnancy ever. This might also be helped by the fact that it is co-written by and starring the brilliant Ilana Glazer (Broad City), who happens to star alongside Michelle Buteau (Survival of the Thickest) - both incredibly funny women. Babes unexpectedly ...

#REVIEW: “FURIOSA: A MAD MAX SAGA”
Review by Nicholas Porteous for Mr. Will Wong
Mad Max: Fury Road blew the lid off action cinema--heck, cinema in general--nine years ago. It was an awe-inspiring hybrid of pure, visual storytelling, stunts, and staggering organizational genius on the part of Director George Miller. The Movie won six Oscars (too few in this Critic's opinion), and left the movie-going world hungry for more. After the sharp, wondrous detour that was Three Thousand Years of Longing, Miller has returned to his ...

#REVIEW: “BACK TO BLACK”
By Mr. Will Wong
Sam Taylor-Johnson's Amy Winehouse Biopic BACK TO BLACK was made for the fans, humanizing one of the greatest Artists of her generation and our time.
We meet Winehouse (Marisa Abela) in her teens, navigating boys, her divorced parents and also developing her songcraft. She quickly signs to the same management company as the likes of the Spice Girls, garnering critical acclaim, but this decidedly isn't enough for her to break into the U.S. She needs hits and a focus on her ...

#REVIEW: “IF”
Review by Justin Waldman for Mr. Will Wong
With echoes of Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, John Krasinski’s latest Feature - in which he stars, directs and writes - IF does feel a tad familiar, but nonetheless heartfelt.
The Movie focuses on Bea (Cailey Fleming) who has been through a lot already in her young life. She has lost her mother to what appeared to be cancer, though never confirmed, and now her Dad (John Krasinski) has to undergo a relatively standard procedure for a broken ...

#REVIEW: “THE STRANGERS: CHAPTER 1”
Review by Amanda Gilmore for Mr. Will Wong
2008’s The Strangers has left a mark among horror fans nearly two decades later. This is predominantly because it reinvented the intention of cinematic serial killers. Where before there was a method behind the madness, Bryan Bertino’s original had a chilling trio of killers with no intention. They found joy in killing simply because the couple was home.
Now a new generation is being introduced to this trio of strangers as they terrorize another ...

#REVIEW: “KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES”
Review by Nicholas Porteous for Mr. Will Wong
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes begins generations after the death of Caesar–the leader of the ape revolution that laid waste to human civilization as we knew it in the modern Planet of the Apes trilogy. It’s a soft reboot of sorts, with an entirely new cast of characters inhabiting a different world in the distant future–a world that has become decidedly far more ape-centric. Our hero, Noa (Owen Teague), leaves his home to explore ...
