#REVIEW: “DRACULA UNTOLD”
Review by David Baldwin for Mr. Will Wong
Prince Vlad (Luke Evans) rules Transylvania cautiously. He is scarred from abuse at the hands of the Turkish Empire – a Group he wants to keep his family well away from. But as their invading forces demand Children to help build their army, Vlad turns to an unlikely source for help: a Master Vampire (Charles Dance) who promises superhuman strength and abilities. But they come at a rather steep price.
The Dracula story has been retold many times, but ...

#REVIEW: “THE GUEST”
Review by David Baldwin for Mr. Will Wong
Mistakes were made at TIFF 2011 – I had the chance to see Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett’s wildly-entertaining You’re Next, but decided to go to something else instead. I cannot remember a thing about the movie I did see, but waited ever so patiently for Wingard and Barrett’s demented Forror-Comedy. The Film was eventually released last summer, nearly two years after its premiere at TIFF, and I loved each and every frame.
The same mistake was ...

REVIEW: “ANNABELLE”
Review by David Baldwin for Mr. Will Wong
I watched The Conjuring on a whim last summer after hearing the surprising amount of praise. I squirmed uncomfortably in my seat nearly the entire time, jumping at specific intervals and was genuinely creeped out at others. I desperately hoped I would not let out yelps of terror like the Gentleman beside me, clutching his Girlfriend. One of the standout moments of the Film involved a sinister looking Doll named Annabelle.
And surprise surprise, just ...

#REVIEW: “GONE GIRL”
Review by Jonathan Godfrey for Mr. Will Wong
After much anticipation, these release of Gone Girl tells us with certainty, it's Awards Season. David Fincher’s new Masterpiece is the byproduct of a beloved Book by the same name by former Entertainment Weekly Writer, Gillian Flynn. It’s a Murder Mystery; a new-age Film Noir with more twists than a line-up for a McDonald’s Cone on hot summer afternoon.
The Film stars a do-no-wrong Ben Affleck. He plays Nick Dunne, a hapless Husband who ...

#REVIEW: “A WALK AMONG THE TOMBSTONES”
Review by Justin Waldman for Mr. Will Wong
Scott Frank’s first directorial Debut came from a 2007 under-appreciated Film called Lookout and after hearing that he was directing and adapting A Walk Among The Tombstones, I was beyond ecstatic to see what he had in store. Liam Neeson has proven time and again his status as a Hollywood Heavyweight and since his 2008 Hit Taken, he has been listed as the Go-To Action Star among his generation. A Walk Among The Tombstones, sees Neeson back and ...

Young Adults, curious Adolescents confused by the world around them. A key demographic regarding contemporary Blockbusters; a band of boys trapped in a labyrinth. The Maze Runner is Fox's latest stab at scoring a celebrated Franchise. As the introductory installment it offers us an enigma, and teases us with keys to solving it.

#TIFF14: “THE CONNECTION”
Review by Justin Waldman for Mr. Will Wong
Focusing on two Characters, the Officer assigned the task of taking-down Drug Kingpins, Pierre Michel (Jean Dujardin) and the Drug Kingpin Tany Zampa (Gilles Lellouche), The Connection is a rather solid Mafia-versus-Cop Thriller. These two Characters squabble a few times throughout the Film as Tany proves resilient, while Pierre will not rest until Tany is off the streets. The Film shares a striking resemblance to American Gangster - a different ...

#TIFF14: “MEN, WOMEN & CHILDREN”
Review by David Baldwin for Mr. Will Wong
Jason Reitman’s sixth feature Men, Women & Children (his second in a row after last year’s Labor Day) revolves around a group of high school students and their parents as they face various struggles in their lives online and off.
Men, Women & Children has a lot of potential to be a great Film, and is a genuine, no-nonsense look at how our lives have changed because of the emphasis on Social Media and the internet. It is a dramatically ...
