Juno Award winning , multi-platinum pop artist Preston Pablo unveils the upbeat summer anthem “Don’t Wanna Know” out today via 31 East and Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. Written by Preston alongside multi-instrumentalist Soran (who also produced the track) as well as singer songwriter Zach Zoya, the track combines the creativity of the trio into a perfectly balanced sonic experience. At its core, “Don’t Wanna Know” is about thinking about someone you love, or once loved, being with someone else. Despite the complex nature of the song, Preston brings a light and fresh sound to an otherwise heavy subject matter. In comparison to the slowed down tempo’s seen on the latest singles featured on the new EP Almost Always released in July, “Don’t Wanna Know” arrives as a refreshing and lighthearted tune for the summer months.

On the writing process for the single, Preston recalls: “I wrote this about 4 years ago with Soran (who also produced it) and Zach Zoya, two people I met early on in my career who are still some of the nicest and most talented I’ve worked with. Soran is so uniquely creative, always ahead of the curve, and has a way of making a session feel so comfortable and easy,” Preston says. “It’s been so long I don’t really remember what led us to write it, but when I listen now, it brings me back to the feeling. I still genuinely enjoy listening to it, and it somehow still feels fresh all these years later. Soran’s production is really the star, the big drum fills, the synth stabs, and the atmosphere he created are insane to me. I’m such a big fan of this song, and I’m really happy it stood the test of time and is finally coming out.”
“Don’t Wanna Know” follows the release of Almost Always, which sees Preston carve out his own sound and build a world that feels true to him as an artist. Released in July, the EP features the standout single, “Tidal Wave” and its accompanying music video, which tackles the emotionally raw feelings that arise in the aftermath of a traumatic loss. The single reveals the most vulnerable side to Preston yet, with a complexity in its tone and deliverance that you can feel from the opening words.
Described by Preston as a collection of his ‘favourite songs made to date,’ Almost Always is comprised of 5 tracks including the hopeful tune, “Dive”, the confidence boosting track, “Selfish”, and his comeback single, “Cause I Do.” Additionally, fans are given the new songs “Tidal Wave” and “You Got Me”. 2026 marks Preston’s first offering of new music since his 2024 debut EP Anywhere But Here, home to the viral hit “Dance Alone.”
Preston Pablo is best known for his chart-topping single “Flowers Need Rain,” which earned him the 2023 JUNO Award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year and was the #1 most Shazamed song of Summer 2022 in Canada. His follow-up smash “Dance Alone” cracked the Top 10 at Canadian radio across all formats and has since inspired over 450,000 user-generated TikTok videos, further cementing his reputation as one of Canada’s most compelling pop voices.
Almost Always continues to propel Preston into a confident new era, offering a taste of the new sound and creative direction he’ll continue to unveil throughout 2026. Preston also recently announced a number of live dates in Ontario including London, Markham and Thunder Bay (see dates below).
