Today, Multi-platinum selling singer, songwriter, producer and DJ Tinashe announces her 8th studio album, Popstar set for release September 25th – pre-order HERE. With Popstar Tinashe immerses her fans into her current era: one filled with defiant and unapologetic anthems, paired with high-energy, choreography filled visuals to match that continue to show off her innate ability to flawlessly blend genres and pave her own path.Â
To coincide with the announcement, she shares a new single and music video for âCrash Outâ – listen HERE/ Watch HERE. Produced by Couros, the single fuses snapping beats with Tinasheâs relaxed vocals to create an irresistible listen as she sings, âIâm about to lose it, but I donât really care no more.â The dance-heavy accompanying music video is directed by 91 Rules (Kelela, Destroy Lonely), with creative direction from Tinashe.
âCrash Outâ follows the release of âToo Easy,â both of which will appear on the highly anticipated Popstar album. âToo Easyâ received widespread critical praise from the likes of Rolling Stone who included the track in Songs You Need to Know, declaring it a â…swaggering singleâŚâ while Billboard proclaimed the âclubby pop trackâŚ[is] coated in confidenceâ with Stereogum adding â…itâs good as hell.â The accompanying music video depicts Tinashe being recreated as a clone of herself to become the ultimate âpopstarâ – watch HERE.Â
This new era comes on the heels of Tinasheâs back to back #1 charting hits with âNo Broke Boysâ with Disco Lines and âNasty.â âNo Broke Boysâ with Disco Lines hit number 1 on Billboardâs Hot Dance/Electronic Songs and remained for several weeks. The track was nominated at this year’s BRIT awards for âInternational Song of the Year,â at the 2026 American Music Awards for Social Song of the Year and won Dance Song of the Year at the 2026 iHeart Radio Music Awards. The song originally appeared on her album, Quantum Baby, which also featured her #1 hit single âNasty.â âNastyâ propelled to new heights and upon release, was lauded as the song of summer by many in 2024.
