@NOdujirin @mrwillw That would be my bet but Train Dreams and Sentimental Value are fighting!
@mrwillw I’m rooting for Hamnet.
@mrwillw I think it’s gonna be Hamnet too.
#tiff50: is it just me or is hamnet really swooping right in there for the people's choice award win? if not, then drop which film you think it'll be.

After very warm reception last season, Action-Comedy series TWISTED METAL returns with a new chapter July 31, 2025 on Paramount+ in Canada! The Video Game adaptation this season, sees its hero John (Anthony Mackie) and Quiet (Stephanie Beatriz) thrown into a deadly tournament with new foes to conquer. All the while, John reunites with his estranged sister and navigates their complicated past.
Toronto was so lucky to welcome back Beatriz – in a beautiful cocktail dress with metal adornments – who filmed the Series in and around Toronto. The magnetic talent who is known for her work on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Encanto, In the Heights, and more, reprises her role as a woman overcoming trauma and beginning to find her voice again in the honour of her deceased brother.
We were so thrilled to get a chance to chat with Beatriz on the Red Carpet, asking her about finding that connecting point to her character, and where this role rates in her very accomplished résumé! We also go there and ask her what her Toronto grievances are and she tells us! You aren’t an honourary Torontonian until you know how to complain!
Beatriz also did a Q&A before the intimate audience with Sangita Patel!
