WHAT WE HAVE LEFT, the latest feature from award-winning Canadian director Sergio Navarretta (The Cuban), will have its Toronto premiere on Sunday, November 15, 2026, at 7:00 PM, at Innis Town Hall, University of Toronto, as part of the Ageless International Film Festival.
Paying tribute to the ideals, music and artistic awakening of Yorkville during the 1960s and 1970s, the film features original 8mm footage from the era. Its story explores memory, friendship, grief, and reconciliation—and the values that endure across generations.
Melanie, a woman in her seventies, reunites her former hippie friends after decades apart. An unexpected inheritance and the arrival of a younger woman prompt the group to confront past choices, old wounds and what truly matters as they look to the future.
The ensemble cast includes Barbara Williams, Tommie-Amber Pirie, Peter MacNeill, R.H. Thomson, Barry Flatman, Terri Hawkes and Joshua Bainbridge. Written by Alessandra Piccione and Frank Canino, the film recently screened at Cinéfest Sudbury and was the Opening Night Film of the Barrie Film Festival.
Navarretta previously directed The Cuban, which received three Canadian Screen Award nominations and won Best Narrative Feature and the Audience Award at the Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles.
