Secret City, the award-winning Toronto-based immersive experience studio behind the immersive escape room and mystery dinner productions at Casa Loma, Old Mill Toronto, and Fort Edmonton Park, is launching its most ambitious project yet. Lost & Found: An Open-World Puzzle Adventure opens June 6, 2026 at The Village at BlackCreek — a sprawling, screen-free interactive experience designed for families, friends, and anyone craving a little more adventure offline.
Set across 30 acres and 43 heritage buildings, Lost & Found transforms the historic village into a living, breathing world filled with hidden clues, side quests, treasure hunts, and a cast of 11 professional actors improvising in real time. Guests choose their own path through the experience: meet lively characters, solve puzzles, uncover secrets, or simply wander and see
where the story takes you.
There are no apps, no devices, and no wrong moves. Just fresh air, curiosity, and the kind of real-world adventure that feels increasingly rare.
Analog is Back
The project’s creative impetus was inspired by the cultural conversation sparked by social psychologist Jonathan Haidt’s The Anxious Generation, which argues that a childhood increasingly lived on screens — and decreasingly lived outdoors with peers — has fuelled a mental health crisis among young people. Haidt’s call for a return to free-roaming, unsupervised play and real-world risk-taking resonated deeply with the Secret City team.
“As a mom of two young kids, I kept coming back to this idea of the free-range kid – the version of my own childhood, when adventure lived around the corner, not just behind a screen,” said Tina Santiago Keenan, Co-Founder and CEO of Secret City. “Lost & Found is our love letter to a simpler time – when adventure could begin just by turning down the right alley, striking up a
conversation with someone new, or being bold enough to see where an unbeaten path could take you.”
Unlike Secret City’s other productions, which sometimes lean into suspense, horror and late-night thrills, Lost & Found is intentionally warm, wholesome, and family-oriented — designed to feel like the highlight of a summer weekend. The experience draws inspiration from internationally celebrated productions including Phantom Peak in London and Ghost Town Alive! in Los Angeles, and marks Secret City’s largest, most intricately designed production since the studio’s founding in 2015.
Secret City’s Most Ambitious Project to Date
Since 2015, Secret City has grown from a two-person studio into a team of nearly 200, producing location-based immersive entertainment at some of Canada’s most iconic landmarks and partnering with clients including Netflix, Nintendo, and Shaftesbury. Lost & Found represents the studio’s largest, most intricately designed production to date — a work that combines the studio’s signature theatrical storytelling, interactive puzzle design, and live performance into a single, open-ended world.
“This project is unlike anything we’ve built before – a larger cast, more interwoven storylines, and more puzzles than any of our previous productions,” Keenan said. “We’re so grateful to all of the Secret City fans and their support and loyalty throughout the last 10 years, and we want nothing more than to deliver something they’ll love and remember.”
