#FIRSTLOOK: PRIME VIDEO UNVEIL ON-AIR TALENT FOR NHL ON PROME 2026-2027

Prime Video today unveiled its powerhouse roster of on-air talent for the 2026-27 season of NHL on Prime, featuring a lineup of legendary announcers, expert reporters, and analysts ready to deliver national coverage in both English and French to Prime members across Canada. Wednesday Night Hockey on Prime Video streams national regular season games on Wednesday nights starting September 30 as the Toronto Maple Leafs host the New York Islanders, with coverage beginning at 7 p.m. ET. Throughout the 2026-27 season, NHL on Prime delivers 27 national regular-season games plus select Stanley Cup Playoff series, all available at no extra cost to members.

For NHL on Prime in English, the broadcast features a returning all-star cast led by play-by-play announcer John Forslund, alongside analysts Jody Shelley in the booth and Thomas Hickey between the benches, with Andi Petrillo reporting from rink side. Anchoring Wednesday Night Hockey is Adnan Virk alongside analyst Blake Bolden and Hockey Hall of Famer Chris Pronger, who is exclusive to NHL on Prime this season. Veteran broadcaster Christine Simpson returns, lending her voice to special features, plus Shane Hnidy and Tyson Nash come back for select games throughout the season.

For French language customers, Prime Video brings legendary broadcaster Alain Crête out of retirement to share play-by-play duties with Michaël Roy alongside analyst Jean-Luc Grand-Pierre. Maxime Lalondejoins as host for Wednesday Night Hockey coverage, with analysts Guillaume Latendresse and Jean-Sébastien Giguère, plus Marc-André Perreault reporting rink side.

Alain Crête: The respected broadcasting veteran joins the NHL on Prime team following his retirement from RDS in June, bringing more than 40 years of broadcast experience, including 12 seasons as the radio play-by-play voice of the Québec Nordiques, 30 years covering the Montréal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators with RDS, 25 years as sports morning show radio host, and four Olympic Games from Sydney 2000 to London 2012.

Michaël Roy: Roy handles play-by-play, bringing the experience and expertise he’s honed across Radio-Canada’s coverage of the NHL, PWHL, Olympic Games, and other major sporting events to the broadcast. A seasoned Canadian broadcaster and producer, Roy’s career spans news anchoring, reporting and play-by-play, bringing a well-rounded perspective to the broadcast team.

Jean-Luc Grand-Pierre: Former NHL defenceman, Grand-Pierre provides colour commentary, drawing on his professional career in both the NHL and across Europe as well as his broadcast experience as a studio analyst for Columbus Blue Jackets games on FanDuel Sports Network Ohio.

Maxime Lalonde: Veteran sports broadcaster Lalonde hosts NHL on Prime coverage, showcasing his 20-year experience across sports television and radio. Lalonde previously hosted TVA Sports NHL coverage and currently hosts two radio shows: BPM Sports’ Chez Gilbert, Max et Ben and O!’s Les 100 000 matins.

Guillaume Latendresse: Latendresse joins the studio as an analyst, bringing firsthand insight from eight NHL seasons with the Montréal Canadiens, Minnesota Wild, and Ottawa Senators, alongside more than a decade of studio experience since transitioning to broadcast in 2014.

Jean-Sébastien Giguère: Stanley Cup champion and Conn Smythe Trophy winner Giguère brings his decorated NHL experience to NHL on Prime. The former goaltender adds Wednesday Night Hockey to his broadcast resume after a hockey career spanning more than 15 seasons that made him the Anaheim Ducks’ all-time leader in goaltender wins.

Marc-André Perreault: Québec sports journalist Perreault joins as rink side reporter, bringing years of experience covering the Montréal Canadiens and contributing to the network’s daily sports program, JiC.

NHL on Prime is produced fully on site in English by Prime Sports, with all French broadcasts produced on-site and in-studio in collaboration with TVA Sports. Crête, Grand-Pierre, and Perreault deliver live on-site coverage for all seven Montréal Canadiens regular-season games, while studio programming originates from a dedicated NHL on Prime panel at the TVA Sports studio in Montréal.

Wednesday Night Hockey coverage in both English and French features pre-game, intermission, and post-game segments. In addition, a suite of livestream features such as Rapid Recap, an AI-powered highlight reel that quickly brings fans up to speed in two minutes or less when joining a game broadcast that is already in progress, Next Up which surfaces relevant recommendations to Prime members on what they can enjoy next, and an in-playback carousel that lets viewers switch between alternate broadcasts, concurrent live events, and relevant content without leaving the NHL on Prime broadcast.
