The 2020 CAFTCAD (Canadian Alliance of Film & Television Costume Arts & Design) Awards took place this past weekend at the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto. The Awards celebrated excellence in Canadian Costume Design over 15 categories in Film and Television. This year an International category was created, qualifying nomineees who are either Canadian or have Permanent Resident status, while costumes had to appear in productions that were produced in Canada. Co-Productions had to feature a minimum 50% costumes built in Canada. Winners named are Song of Names (International – Film) and Daybreak, 107, Canta Tu Vida (International – Television).

Above this, Costume Designer Juul Haalmeyer, will be the 2020 recipient of The Nobis Industry Icon Award. The Award is handed to someone in the industry who has made significant contributions to Costume Design in the breadth of their career.
