#FIRSTLOOK: NEW TRAILER FOR “MARIA” STARRING ANGELINA JOLIE

We get an official Trailer today for Pablo Larraín’s (Spencer, Jackie, No) MARIA, following its World Premiere in Competition at this year’s Venice International Film Festival where it drew much acclaim. The film will have its theatrical release on November 27, 2024 and will stream exclusively in Canada on MUBI starting December 11, 2024.

Maria will have its UK Premiere at BFI London Film Festival on October 18.

The film stars Academy Award®-winner Angelina Jolie (Maleficent, Salt, Girl, Interrupted), Valeria Golino (Portrait of a Lady on Fire), Alba Rohrwacher (My Brilliant Friend), Kodi Smit-McPhee (The Power of the Dog), Haluk Bilginer (Persona), Pierfrancesco Favino (Adagio) and Caspar Phillipson (Blonde).

Maria is written by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders), with music produced by John Warhurst (Bohemian Rhapsody), cinematography from Ed Lachman (El Conde) and production design by Guy Hendrix Dyas (Inception).

Academy Award®-winner Angelina Jolie is Maria Callas, one of the most iconic performers of the 20th century in acclaimed director Pablo Larrain’s operatic Maria. The film follows the American-Greek soprano as she retreats to Paris after a glamorous and tumultuous life in the public eye. Maria reimagines the legendary soprano in her final days as the diva reckons with her identity and life.
