There’s even MORE to love about Cirque du Soleil’s smash hit, LUZIA! Ahead of its highly anticipated return to Toronto in over a decade, show dates have just been extended from June 18 though to the end of summer until August 30, under the Big Top at 2150 Lake Shore Blvd. W. While the countdown is officially on (with only three months to opening night in Toronto) – the wait to see LUZIA, as you’ve never seen it before, has arrived! The series premiere of the CBC original documentary Cirque Life is set to air this Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 8 p.m. on CBC and CBC Gem. Produced by Cineflix, Cirque Life pulls back the curtain on Cirque du Soleil and reveals an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look at one of their most celebrated shows, LUZIA.
The five-part series follows the cast and crew of LUZIA as they return home to Montréal for an unforgettable summer under the Big Top. Amid roaring crowds and soaring expectations, cameras capture every triumph and challenge as performers and crew tackle up to 10 shows a week during an epic four-month run. With no margin for error, they continuously refine their artistry while juggling dazzling acrobatics, life in the spotlight, and the relentless pace of touring.
Each one-hour episode invites viewers to the joys, pressures, challenges, sacrifices, and human experiences behind the applause. In the first episode, the troupe reunites in Montréal in the electric lead-up to its Montreal premiere. It’s all-hands-on-deck as the entire cast and crew channels its energy into one goal: delivering a flawless premiere, but a medical emergency thrusts the clown understudy into the starring role, while the ‘most flexible man in the world’ gears up to set a Guinness World Record. Cirque Life brings viewers inside all the action, showcasing the exceptional talent, commitment, and courage it takes to be part of the team.
LUZIA is the 38th Big Top production of Cirque du Soleil, a delightful and visually stunning creation that invites audiences to escape to an imaginary Mexico. In a surreal world suspended between dreams and reality – LUZIA seamlessly weaves tradition and modernity in a series of grand surprises, breathtaking scenes, and jaw-dropping acrobatics. Hailed by critics the world over, the show literally makes a splash in every city it tours, using more than 10,000 litres of water throughout each performance – making it an unforgettable multisensory journey to be experienced in-person.
LUZIA will be presented in Toronto, ON, from June 18 – August 30, 2026, at 2150 Lake Shore Blvd. W. Tickets are available now at www.cirquedusoleil.com/luzia.
