#FIRSTLOOK: “BETTER THAN THE MOVIES” CASTING ANNOUNCEMENT

BEATRICE KITSOS AND DAVID IACONO TO LEAD YA ROMANTIC COMEDY “BETTER THAN THE MOVIES” AT NETFLIX.

Cast: Beatrice Kitsos (Percy Jackson and the Olympians) and David Iacono (Jurassic World Rebirth) have landed the leads in Netflix’s feature adaptation of Lynn Painter’s Better Than The Movies, after a buzzy search and viral fan casting.

The hugely popular book, published by Simon & Schuster, is a #1 New York Times bestseller. To date, it has appeared on the New York Times monthly YA paperback list for 44 months and its weekly YA hardcover list for 20 weeks.

BETTER THAN THE MOVIES pays homage to all the romance tropes – fake relationship, enemies to lovers, boy next door – but throws them on their head in this new take on what happily ever after looks like.

This marks the second Original Headquarters project at Netflix, following Don’t Say Good Luck starring Sunny Sandler, which was directed by Hart, co-written by Hart and Horowitz, and produced by both.
